Reflectix for heat/sound barrior?

Guy at the office has an older jeep cheroke and recently lined the floor with this stuff. Its not too expensive house insulation that you can pick up from the home depot. Its a layer of foil, a decent layer of "bubble" wrap, and then another layer of foil. Feels rather tough. It has totaly cut down the heat that you used to be able to feel from his floorboards. He says it as also cut down a decent bit on the noise. Only downside, water will NOT go through this stuff.

Anyone else ever used this? I think this would be great in the 7 as I can feel the heat coming from the transmission tunnel during the summer.

fabulous product, made to do the job. Thin, effective, breeze to apply. Your way works, sort of, esp if you want to do it cheap.
