refilling Gearbox

ok, so I drained my gearbox oil...ready to put new oil in...only problem is that filler plug is in a bitch of a location..... is there any easier way to fill? I cant exactly pour it straight from the bottle into the plug, considering the angle of the plug and what a mess it would make...any good ideas/ways ppl do it?

Also..roughly how much to rebuild gearbox.. I think my syncro's are gone/going....

Easy as buying a $10 gear oil pump. Youll play hell trying to put oil in without one. Youll be laying under the car cussing so load youll attract all the croc's in the area. (JK- I watch too much tv) Looks like a beautiful place in your sig)

You can use the squeezy bottle trick from inside the car too (Through the shifter hole)

Doesnt take as long that way

If you have an air compressor you can put a small hole in the bottom of the bottle and use the compressed air at about 5psi to push it out through the tubing. This is how I did mine and also refilled the rearend the same way. It works great. Just make sure you have one extra bottle that you don't put a hole in so you can save the left over fluid.

I use an old turkey baster for my differential. Works fairly decent. I got the quickie lube place to fill my tranny.

This only works if you have a SA, the FB tranny has a remote mounted shifter with its own oil, so it won't work on the later cars. Heres a question, how much gear oil will a tranny take to fill?
