RedlineGoods.com can now offer genuine leather FB shift boots!!

Hi guys,

we actually have the rubber FB shift boot here and we could easily make a very good leather replacement for it for your cars, but we never have been able to find people who'd be willing to order one, put it on their cars and take some pictures of the install process and some of them already installed.

If you're willing to do that, we'll give you a FULL REIMBURSEMENT - yes, FREE boot! after we get the materials. First come-first served basis. The first person to post here AND actually order a boot has the chance to send us those materials and get the money back. If they don't come through, the next person from the list will be contacted with that offer.

If you want to know more about our company and see our products for the FC and the FDs, please visit our pages here:

http://www.redlinegoods.com/FCproduct.shtm
http://www.redlinegoods.com/FDproduct.shtm

or one of our current RX7Club threads which I hope will do more than enough to convince you that we're a VERY trustworthy company and that our products simply ROCK!

Here are the LATEST FD pics with our boots in them:

Thank you,

No, but if I can have somebody send me the stock one or help me design one from scratch we can pull it off (just as we did with the FC which came with no stock ebrake boot).

Update

Guys,

as indicated in my original post, the order of posting replies to this thread is key, not your emails, etc. I DO HAVE THE ORIGINAL RUBBER BOOT, I can make leather replacements for it right away as we have already prepared the templates! They'll fit just like stock, you'll need a zip-tie to hold it up on top and that's it!

You can order ANY color combo (out of the ones we provide at http://www.redlinegoods.com/clrchart.shtm) at $40 shipped by going to our order form here: http://www.redlinegoods.com/order.shtm?product=FBshift (we take PayPal and credit cards online) anytime from right now. Please make sure to describe what colors you need so that we have it all in one place.

Nopiston_racer has the first rights to the reimbursement if he sends in the pics/install info. If he doesn't do that on a timely manner, I'm contacting the next person in line.

To make this an even better deal to all those of you who want to get their boots ASAP, if you order an interesting color combo (different leathers and different threads, the more the merrier, usually black/black and black/red goes first so if you want to be original, go for charcoal leather and different threads if that suits your preference) we'll also be paying you for pictures of those items in your cars, at $5 a picture if we decide to use it - so there's nothing to lose, even if you don't get the full refund for making the install document, you'll still get $10-$15 back from us for your pictures, ending up with a genuine leather shift boot for NO MORE than $40, more likely $25-$30.

I hope you agree it's a great deal.

All orders will ship on Monday (unless there's too many, we'll deliver on a first-come first served basis, but our capacity is 100 shift boots a day so no worries).

You'll be receiving them within 2 weeks if you order in the next day or two.

nopiston_racer please email me at maciek@redlinegoods.com when you get your payment out so that we can be in touch over email.

nick1 - I got your email bro, but like said before order of posting is key. I'm sure with yellow thread we'd want your pictures though so you can get some money from us.

I'd like to thank all of you for interest, it's not the first time I'm doing a roll call like that and I assure you all of you will be satisfied with what you'll get.

Take care,
Maciek

Yes, we've always done that and there is no extra charge either.

it looks like the boot for the FC parking brake would come close to fitting a FB. The FB's had a hard plastic clam shell deal on the P brake originally.

Could you do a burgundy thread that would match the interior of the FB's instead of the bright red?

Hi,

great news on the ebrake boot. We can make a cover for it I'm sure.

And yes, we do have burgundy leather.

I'm sorry to be raising this thread from the dead after so long, but I was waiting all this time for the initial "guinea pig" to send me the pictures... Which, sadly, he never did. So the deal is still open.

I am that "guinea pig" he speaks of. ah well, im not worried. i already have the shift boot, and im installing it right now, unfortuantely the little platic pieces that the boot attaches to are broken (as are on all fb's), so im in the process of attaching something else there to hold the boot in place. i urge anyone who's interested to order this boot, because its made perfectly to match the original, and looks sweet.

anyone have any ideas how to secure the boot (through small holes in the bottom of the boot) to the console when all the plastic "*****" are broken off?

When I installed my aftermarket boot I used 2 sided velcro. One side went underneath the shifter cover, the other on the boot itself (That way you can remove the boot to keep that area clean.

A lot of others just use a heat gun or superglue to hold it.

It might be nice if Redlinegoods made some sort of provision for attachment considering 90% of FB's probably have the tabs broken. I know mine are.

Post some pics when you get it in. A new boot is on my list.

Right on.

Yes. What you do is basically cut the velcro into 1/2" strips, each between 2-4" long and apply it all around the boot and base, that way you have almost 100% coverage. Some care has to be made to ensure both surfaces are clean (use isopropyl alcohol to clean) for a proper hold. But that is essential with most any bonding application. I believe on 2 or 3 'strips' I had to use super glue to get them to hold on the boot.

What's really nice is the ability to take it on and off to clean the 'crud' that collects at the base of the boot.

With the vinyl boots I carry we've been recommending 2 sided tape, but your velcro idea is an excellent one.

It's on your boot

Edit- and I can't take all the credit here... My wife had substantial input. That's all I have to say about that.

I would definitely like to have one, as I think they are an awesome upgrade for the aesthetic appearance of the interior; however, I don't want to spend my money left and right (even though $40 sounds like a damn good deal to me). Will you be putting these products up on your website, or will they only be available through rx7club.com?
