Rebuilt Nikki Problems
I have rebuilt my carb and it started up perfectly well with the choke, but as soon as it is off choke, it struggles to stay alive.
The rpm rides around 2/300 ish on the tach, but when adjusting the idle speed and mixture screw, they make no difference. It is also very rough and misses a lot before it cuts out.
Idle speed will not increase with the screw...idle mixture can be turned all the way in without the engine dying. (running too rich?)
It has flooded once already, but the sight glasses show the fuel at the middle height.
There is a new fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Any suggestions for what to try would be great.
Thanks

One of the new float needles might be stuck. They tend to do that when new. This would cause fuel starvation.
Sometimes you can knock them loose just by banging on the top of the carb with a plastic hammer or something that won't damage it. Other times, you need to pull the top off the carb and remove the finish from the new needles.
Good luck.

lol, sorry Ken.
Ended up needing the float bowl levels adjusted as they were somehow out of whack and the needles were sticking intermittently. Hammer trick didnt work so de-burred the edges.
Much better now!
