Rebuilding Nikki

Joey,
I've read a lot of your posts, and they do tend to be a bit arrogant. I've even seen you post completely incorrect information, which I can only assume was a guess stated as fact. And I've tried to be patient with you. Its not often that I'll stoop to the level of joining into these types of stupid personal disputes, but your attitude in this thread, especially when aimed at respected members (and a mod no less, which could only imply a high degree of stupidity) has really gotten me pissed off.
Divindriver simply if you knew you weren't supposed to remove the venturis. All you needed to say was that you did know that, but like to do things your own way. That I can respect. But instead you turned it into a personal attack, which was completely uncalled for.
You swing your attitude around like a baseball bat, and come across like a stupid stubborn teenager. I can appreciate that you have vast knowledge, but without common courtesy to go along with it I don't see you bringing anything of value to this forum..... If you were to leave and never come back, who would miss you? A little common courtesy and respect, not to mention professionalism, goes a long way.....
I look forward to your (no doubt highly intelligent) reply.

This is the chain of events where you went wrong here, Joey...
The first mistake you made was letting everybody know you hadn't built a Nikki before:
The second mistake you made was stating an assumption you made regarding removing the venturis in a Nikki as fact:
This is simply not true. Everyone here with the experience of at least one rebuild knows this to be false. Not only that, but the castings on the boosters (-which are really all you removed, Joey) are very brittle, and they can be broken easily. (-Then you're pretty much fucked, Joey.)
So by the first sentence of your second post here, you've just obliterated your credibility.
The third thing you did wrong was to suggest that either there was nothing you could learn from the factory manual, or that you already knew everything in it by this statement:
So now you're basically trying to convince the readership that your vast experience of a single Nikki carb rebuild has proven the Workshop Manual an obsolession...-at least for you, anyways.
But then you immediately follow this blunder with your fourth, tragic mistake, which is to question the experience of other members whom you obviously know nothing about, with this statement:
-Ahem. Driver, allow me, -Please...
About 180.
Again, in an attempt to reassert your vast knowledge of how the world works in much like the clumsy dry humping pre-ejaculatory mind-puke of a 12 year old boy, you insist yet again:
As someone "just a little" more experience than you, I can tell you that nothing will sap away at your profits faster than doing unnecessary steps in a rebuild. That's why I have so many different prices on my list. Sure, I can remove your venturis and soak them, but you'd have to be either ignorant or just a plain idiot to ask me, and then think that I'm somehow shafting you by adding that step to the rebuild. (Y'idgit.)
But I digress...
What number are we up to? 12? -Like it matters at this point, right? So far every single thing you've stated has been either false or... well, stupid.
Let's continue with the noob tea bagging, shall we?
Oh yes, this one...
You demonstrate a complete lack of respect, though apparently inadvertently, due to your ignorance of the fact that "this guy", DivinDriver, is one of the most helpful and respected members on this forum ("this forum" being the 1rst gen section, fyi).
Again, when the readership has all but thought you couldn't possibly make more of a fool of yourself than you have, you continue to surprise us all with your buffoonery by going so far as challenging him to dual of "Nikki Knowmanship":
Nice. So now you're gonna challenge people about what's wrong with their Nikkis?
Well good. Care to take a stab at me? LOL Let's see how much you really know, kid. (Or have you already been to my website?)
Though the following statement might really not be bragging, I believe it mostly is:
If it's not bragging, then it just shows how little you know about life in general and dates you to about 15 years old; -consistent with the rest of your posts in this thread. While I believe that you can actually work on mechanical things, and that it does come easy for you, the fact that you don't seem to realize that there are several types of people in this world, including those which are better at other things, yet are boggled or intimidated by mechanical objects, demonstrates to me that you're little more than an ignorant snot-nosed kid with a lot of growing up to do. And this statement shows either ignorance, or that you simply haven't shopped around:
Hell, I charge only 20 bucks more than that for a full-blown modified Nikki! Plated & everything! (...oh yeah, I DO remove the venturis for those. ) I dunno where you're getting your prices, but I suspect you're making them up.
I won't even bother posting your retort to me schooling me on your first amendment rights as a forum user to post incorrect information, because by saying this to GlazedHam, even if you had not stated all these other idiocies, you show everyone what a complete and utter fool you are:
Joey, you've certainly made an impression. Best just not to post here anymore, really. Go back to the "what do you smoke" thread.
The first mistake you made was letting everybody know you hadn't built a Nikki before:
This is my first time rebuilding a carb.
When you send your carb. to get rebuilt, they remove everything. There is absolutely no problem with removing them.
So by the first sentence of your second post here, you've just obliterated your credibility.
The third thing you did wrong was to suggest that either there was nothing you could learn from the factory manual, or that you already knew everything in it by this statement:
I don't care what the Factory Carb manual says. I already have that manual. I do things my own way..which apparantly works.
But then you immediately follow this blunder with your fourth, tragic mistake, which is to question the experience of other members whom you obviously know nothing about, with this statement:
How many carbs have you ever rebuilt that you're such an expert to tell me how to rebuild mine?
About 180.
Again, in an attempt to reassert your vast knowledge of how the world works in much like the clumsy dry humping pre-ejaculatory mind-puke of a 12 year old boy, you insist yet again:
When you send it to get rebuilt, they do remove everything..and rip you off.
But I digress...
What number are we up to? 12? -Like it matters at this point, right? So far every single thing you've stated has been either false or... well, stupid.
Let's continue with the noob tea bagging, shall we?
Oh yes, this one...
Can you believe this guy, getting on me for taking the venturis out?
Again, when the readership has all but thought you couldn't possibly make more of a fool of yourself than you have, you continue to surprise us all with your buffoonery by going so far as challenging him to dual of "Nikki Knowmanship":
Since you maintained yours since '89 tell me why the secondaries of the Nikkis always stop working? Don't tell me vaccuum leak or needs to be rebuilt.
"I had 34mpg in the city with the Nikki". Talking about owner negligence...34 mpg in the city?! Check your secondary. I bet any money they're not opening.
Well good. Care to take a stab at me? LOL Let's see how much you really know, kid. (Or have you already been to my website?)
Though the following statement might really not be bragging, I believe it mostly is:
There's nothing to rebuilding these carbs. I don't know why people have a problem doing it.
I don't believe in paying over 360 to someone else to rebuild it. I think thats a rip off.
I won't even bother posting your retort to me schooling me on your first amendment rights as a forum user to post incorrect information, because by saying this to GlazedHam, even if you had not stated all these other idiocies, you show everyone what a complete and utter fool you are:
D**k Riding Speak for your self & stop riding. All you people who don't do your own work are getting ripped off.

I know where you're coming from cuz I do the same thing.. but I don't charge 360+ to rebuild a carb. Sterling took offense to what I said & wasn't directing anything to him. It's just my opinion.

I've seen enough.
Joey,
When posting information in this "Technical" section it is important to realize that there are many members with different levels of mechanical and diagnostic experience. Some are very green when it comes to these things and it is important that if a mentioned step of a procedure is incorrect and could cause issues, that it be addressed.
When the member stated the information that is contained in the Factory Carb manual he didn't do it to prove you wrong or show you up, he did it to ensure that the content of the thread was as accurate as possible so that members would know the correct procedure to follow.
It is great that mechanical things come to you easy and that this particular outcome of your work turned out ok. There are many out there that if they followed what you stated that may have serious issues. This is what needs to be avoided.
Stating what someone charges to do any particular work is a "Rip Off" is not exactly the most favorable or accurate words you could choose. Given that there are many vendors on this site that perform a variety of services and since you seem to be able to do most then you would think that whatever you can do then those vendors doing the same thing and charging what they do is a "Rip Off".
IMHO the 1st gen section is the most friendly and helpful section on this site. It consists of a variety of members from all walks of life that pretty much have the same interest, The love of the 1st gen. To have respected members such as Kentetsu, and Sterling that are both very level headed become agitated by your responses should tell you something is wrong with the way you are portraying yourself.

So, help me out here. Was Divindriver being arrogant, or was he being stupid? Which one?
And according to your photos, it is too disconnected...
Anyway, I'm through with this petty crap. You remind me of my teenager, lots of potential but still needs to be housebroken....

This was my original reply to him. I wasn't being arrogant or rude. The argument started after the fact.
