Rebuilding Nikki
I needed to rebuild my carburator. So I decided to rebuild another one I had around. This is my first time rebuilding a carb. Didn't realize how easy it was.

When you send your carb. to get rebuilt, they remove everything. There is absolutely no problem with removing them. You just have to know how to put them back properly. I already put the rebuilt carb. in the car and have had no problems.

I don't care what the Factory Carb manual says. I already have that manual. I do things my own way..which apparantly works. How many carbs have you ever rebuilt that you're such an expert to tell me how to rebuild mine? When you send it to get rebuilt, they do remove everything..and rip you off. I only paid $22 did it myself with no problem and performs well.

Since you maintained yours since '89 tell me why the secondaries of the Nikkis always stop working? Don't tell me vaccuum leak or needs to be rebuilt.

I don't need to prove **** to you, though; I offered you a piece of advice based on the factory's own recommendations. You choose not to take it, that's cool - - it's your car. But it doesn't make what I said incorrect, and just because you removed them and were able to get the car running again doesn't make it advisable to do so.
The factory recommended that they not be removed as part of the rebuild procedure. You chose to do so anyway on your car; more power to you. Doesn't make it correct, though. And unless you can explain why the factory made that recommendation, and why it's OK long-term to ignore that advice, then the average person coming here trying to decide how to work on their own car deserves to know the facts.
I don't need to prove **** to you either, sonny boy. That you would assume that all I know about is "oil changes" proves only your own ignorance - - says nothing at all about me. Some few people here know better.
I didn't think that kind of pointless e-peen waving was encouraged around here, but I guess it's true after all; every village has a couple of 'em.

Update
It's been a while since I rebuilt my carburator. I just didn't have time to swap them since I'm putting together an engine. Even though they told me I wasn't supposed to take the venturis out, I did cause I work my own way. Just put it in the car today & purrs like a kitten. Here's more pics.

There's nothing to rebuilding these carbs. I don't know why people have a problem doing it. I don't believe in paying over 360 to someone else to rebuild it. I think thats a rip off.

Joey, this is a forum where people come to learn about their cars. The stock carburetor is one of the more complex components on the car, and gives the most trouble. After 25+ years, they often have to be rebuilt. I've always encouraged people to rebuild their own carburetors and I've helped dozens of members here with rebuilding their Nikkis. It's a responsibility. Now I'm sure you don't think so, Joey, because, after all, "there's nothing rebuilding these things". But I want to know, Joey, are you gonna help these poor ******* who incorrectly reinstall their left primary venturi? You do know what happens if it's not in correctly, dontcha, Joey? ...Of course you do. After all, these things are such a snap.
-But you're NOT SAYING WHAT WILL HAPPEN.
So what I want to know is, after all your bragging and all your disrespectful behavior in this thread to a handful of really helpful & knowledgeable members, are YOU gonna accept the responsibility for your really bad advice? Are you gonna be around to HELP those poor bastards who read your bragging post about how easy it all is and were inspired by you in this thread to totally **** up their carburetor?
Now, before you type in something else really stupid in response, take a second to realize how I, as a Nikki builder, am more likely to benefit from someone dulling bad carburetor advice here. After all, whenever someone ***** up his rebuild, I might just make an extra sale as result, right?
But that's not what kind of guys we are around here. Not a single one of us.
Now get with the program and pony up some respect, noob.
