Rebuild troubles

I'm going to be rebuilding my engine soon, and I'm having troubles with all the parts needed.

When looking at gasket and seal kits they're showing other parts, like different apex seals and things of that nature.

Could you guys help me in the area of what to get and what not to?

Thanks,
Eric

Atkins.com huh, are you saying I'm fat???

That is what I'm talking about under the photo there is a bod marked "recomandations" and I was wanting to know about the items listed there.

Just to be a smart ***, I'm still working a 7 at this time of the morning and needed a patience break. If you can be a little less specific, we can be a little less helpful.

Need more details on your engine and what kit you are looking at. What are your plans for the car, condition of the engine parts, if it has been torn down, mileage, etc.

Sorry, its a 12a with just over 105k. No it hasn't been torn down yet I want to get everything in order so I don't have parts spead out all over.

I was looking at rebuilt kit C, its got the list of whats in the kit then under it theres a box of recomendations, like 13b 2mm short apex seal spring, and next is 13B 2mm Long Apex Seal Spring Set.

why recomend one and then the other?

Much better.

You have a 12a, you don't need 13b springs, unless you want something to frame for your wall. You also have 3mm seals, not 2mm ones. Kit C is a full rebuild, it has everything you should need. I suggest that when all your ducks are in a row, you crack open the motor and find out if you need housings or irons. If you don't, then order the kit you want. It will be there by the time you have finished cleaning and specing all of your parts. Atkins is very good at shipping. They are also very good at answering questions about thier kits, on the phone, nice people.

Spreading parts all over is half the fun, and people wonder why I'm still single.
