rear swap

i have an 84 gs and was going to do the gsl or -se rear conversion. i was wondering if the pinion flange was smaller on those because i baught a 3rd member but the guy wasnt sure which car it was from or what year and it was smaller. i thought it might have been pre 84 so it had the smaller bearings but was not sure if the pinion flange changed size as well. also is there a preferance to make this swap better?

all 84's are a bolt in affair. Just swap pumpkins. If you really want some tear off the line get a kia diff, no limited slip though, but cheap upgrade to 4.44 or 4.78 gears.

According to Mazda trix and all the info I have, the 85/84 suspension parts are interchangeable without mods. Main difference is the discs and lsd. sizes are the same. I also have an 84 gs and I'm doing the GSL-SE swap this spring.

you need the whole rear end with everything on it (caliper's,disk's...)..yes you can use the brake master from a gsl..since your getting a gsl rear anyway. cant remember how to do the e brake..
