rear gearing question

rear gearing question

ok i asked in the general auto section.... no replys so ill ask in here. how can i tell what gear # i have... i got a set of aftermarket gears a while back and i forgot what they were... do i divide the # of teeth on the ring by the # on the pinon? i dont see any markings on the r&p so im lost

There is an equation for finding out top speed depending on tire size and gearing, can you do it backwards?

I think the equation is on the Racing Beat website.

Look on felixs site. It is in my sig. He has a chart there IIRC that gives tooth counts.

It's easy, you divide the number of teeth on the ring by the number on the pinion. To work it out just put a mark on one of the teeth with a marker pen and start counting.
