Looking good, Man!! Question, is your hood going to open from the front like an FD, or from the back like an FB? Just curious.

Later,
Bill

its gonna open from the front. its easier to work on the motor when the front is not being blocked by a hood.

Thats cool, but the hood opening from the front is better imo. Oh ya, the fenders look good so far

Great looking progress. This car is coming a hell of a long way. I can't wait to see the finished product. Seeing the progress of this car throughout the life of its growth, if you will, is going to make the final product look that much better as well.

looks great, any front pics with some light showing the bumper lines?

are the front fenders all glass, or some steel?

did you use the stock hindges or a sissor style? mounted in the stock location?

do you still have inner fenders?

This something I have been wanting to do for some time, good so see someone else complete it.

watch out for that style weave of fiber glass, it is not strong at all, especially if youre just using one continous layer. Id recommend using the randomly directed thread fiberglass, its messier to work with, but makes it so much stronger. I tried it your way first and it was flimsy as hell. I just redid it with the random weave and its so much better.

not yet.

going to be all f/glass

shock style hinges were used. (civic rear trunk hinge). And the stock bolt location on the FD's hood were used but major modification to the frame was required to mount the hinge to the body.

at this point yes. and no after i make replicas. strictly bolt on is my preference along with lightness. (the front of my car will basically be all f/glass, so imagine how light this car will be)

dont know if you saw my car a year ago. i had an 95 integra front end which was easier to do, but since i got some better cash flow, thats why i decided to do the FB 2 FD project.

oh yeah, i know. this is not done yet. just a progress pic. i still have to do the f/glass mat layer. basically its 3 layer cloth, 2 layer mat.

What did you use to get the base shape? I'm assuming styrofoam, but I could be wrong?
