Rear End MOD

I have an se model, which mazda truck are the gears interchangable with? Would this better my acceleration? Or is it just not worth the trouble? I don't ever take the car past 200kph so I'd shorten my top speed, to have even faster acceleration.

Well don't quote me on this but i read somewhere that you already have very high ratio gears. non-SE is 3:93 and SE is 4:10

A B2000 series truck has compatible differential gears. If it's 4wd, I believe both the front or rear differential is usable. They have 4.44 ratio gears.

Your SE has 4.10 Gears in the rear to make up for the 14 inch wheels. The non SE's had 13 inch wheels and a 3.9 rear gear.

According to people on this forum, the 4.44 gears are a good balance between streatability and raceability.

I dunno if you can keep the LSD function of your diff if you switch to truck gears though.

Let me remind you, that everything I have said is based on what I've gathered. I dunno if it's all accurate.

4.10 gears.... that's pretty high, and if I'd lose my LSD this idea will be out the door. I'll keep my eye open for the B2000 gears anyhow.

I really need to spend some more cash on my car, engine wise, my father bought my mom the new STS caddillac and let me tell you, I destroyed a BULLET mustang, the caddy has 300hp, full traction control, and it redlines every shift, you feel the pull big time. After that my thought process is on another track. I can't really compare the 2 cars really, the cigarette lighter in that car is worth more than my car, but it really opened my eyes as to what is out there. That is where the whole rear end idea came to me. That an I have to look into a light flywheel and a better clutch, my clutch even though it's 2 months old, it can't handle the engine at redline in 4th. But I must say that this car handles sooo much abuse, for an '84 I must say I am very happy with this car.
