Rear Calipers search

Cardone re-manufactures calipers for Mazda RX-7's (see link below). I ordered front and rear calipers for my 85 GSL-SE from them in 2017 through Summit Racing. I got the two front calipers and the left rear right away but had to wait for almost a year for the right rear caliper. Their site has a list of retailers who sell the parts. They also have a "repair & return option and this may be a way to go if your not in a hurry, but I believe the scarcity of re-manufactured calipers for our RX-7's is due to not enough "returned cores" being available to rebuild. I saw the handwriting on the wall years ago with parts coming up "NLA' and did my final push and replaced my suspension in 2017, exhaust system in 2018 and finished replacing my rotors, calipers and brake hoses last month. It's 35 years old and it's got another 35 years in it.

No offense SeniorChief. But that link is a dead end and your out of touch by at least 3 years. NOBODY sells reman calipers for 12a or 13b 1st Gens anymore. I spent TOO MANY hours looking over Cardone, rock auto, napa, google, ebay, who-gives-a -**** before just buying a used set and having them rebuilt. Nobody sells them as rebuilt anymore.
If your thinking about a 64 Barricuda, or a 49 Ford, then yes, brake parts are readily available.. 79-85 RX7,.... No. No.
This is why I always advise young guys NOT to get a 1st gen as their 1st car, or daily. You need time, patience and money to fix up one of these awesome little cars. You can't go to NAPA and get dick for our cars. It's not 1999 anymore.

Alright so this thread is about sourcing rear calipers for a GSL I think? Buy them, show me a pic of them, and I'll pay you twice what you paid, plus shipping to me.

I showed you four I bought three years ago on my car today and also showed you three links for RX-7 calipers that available today online. What is your issue with what I have posted?

What Im saying is that they are not available in 2020. Or last year when I was shopping for them in 2019. Not to mention the OP is looking for 12a GSL rear calipers (I think), not 13B --SE calipers (different parts).
I went through all this last year trying to find 1st GSL calipers and then -SE calipers when I decided to do the -SE swap. I have plenty of money and part of my job is proving engineers wrong, so I'm pretty good at my research. I could not find any calipers for either car. I DID find several places that showed they had them , but when I placed the order I got a message back saying they were out of stock and didn't know when they'd be available. IE- NLA.
I have been saying this for about 2 years now and nobody has proven me wrong yet. Please be the first. I really want a source for reman calipers for FB's, I'm not trying to be a dick. I looked at your Summit link and it let me add the front left, but doesn't have the FR or either rear. I suspect if I order the FL I'll get a refund in a couple days, because that's what happened at RA and several other forum-recommended sources when I tried last year. Not to mention, what good would ONE caliper be if I'm trying to restore a 40yo sports car? You want to replace both fronts, or both rears, or all 4.
Op is looking for both rears for a GSL axle so most of our back-n-forth here is meaningless.

You made a blanket statement that you can't get calipers anymore and that is just patently false. If you are patient and keep at it you will eventually find them, I didn't say it was easy but it's better than saying it can't be done. See example below for 1984 GSL, I had orders that I made in my search come back as "out of stock" during my search too, but I requested to be notified when they were back in stock and was contacted and that was how I got my last one of my four calipers. Not in stock isn't the same as NLA and you just "assume" when you order it it will come back as not in stock, and that isn't a valid premise in my opinion, and the facts bear this out. Took me 30 seconds to find a 1984 GSL caliper on Amazon.com, enough said. I have been a member for over nineteen years and have 187 posts, I don't post unless I think I can be of help or have a question. I was trying to help the OP and didn't appreciate being lectured about "being behind the times" by a third party. If you can't accept the fact that caliper are still available that's your issue, maybe the OP will be interested.

I hate to get back into this discussion, and Im not going to argue about anything. Just like religion and politics, believe what you want. But remember OP is/was looking for rear calipers for a 12A car (I believe). Any links posted yesterday are for a LF 12A car, or a RF 13B car, but I don't think any rear calipers were linked. I cannot find any when I search. And that's what this thread was about.... finding rear calipers.
When I searched for my own car (in '18 &'19) I could find only a Left front, and maybe a RF from another supplier but had casting #'s indicating they were from different flavors of 1st gen. Like one was an FB, one was a -SE, and one was an SA. I couldn't find a "matching" pair. And again, I couldn't find ANY rear calipers for any 1st gen cars (FB or -SE).
If you can find them that's awesome and you should be proud. There are hundreds of members here looking for them.
