Rear brake caliper question
I have a 84 gsl and I punctured the rubber boot on the back of the caliper working on the suspension. The rubber boot is pretty much full of brake fluid. I'm guessing it's not supposed to be but I'm not sure. I searched but it didn't say if it has fluid in it or not. I don't know if I'm replacing the calipers or looking for a replacement boot. Thanks guys

I just rebuilt my calipers a month ago for the same reason. If there is fluid in the boot, then the seal is bad. If you take the boot off and there is no rust underneath it, you can probably get away with just redoing the seals. I spent $11 at oreillys on two new seal kits. They were pretty easy to do also. Otherwise, the new caliper was like $57 each after the core.

Funny thing about the seal kits from oreilly, they don't have the correct seal for the backside of the caliper. I rebuilt mine a while back, and that rear oring was not included. Well, not in the correct size.....
