I've bought a LOT of parts from Mazdatrix, always a good experience.

Let us know how your experience goes. I'm thinking of sending one of my FBs to our house in Darkest France (Aveyron). So. I have two problems to solve: parts, and storage while I'm not there. I can haul small bits back and forth, and I expect storage to be OK if I use MMO in the gas (and maybe fog the engine when I leave) and redline or some additive in the gear cases.

i've tried to dismount the carburator for reach the gasket mainfold with no results, on tuesday i'll go to a mechanic to do that. Really the carburator is simple to dismount but to remount it.. i think for me its impossible... so that i prefer to bring the auto to a mechanicker....

Be carefull of just using that jack if your getting under the car, They are notoriously unstable. I would get some ramps or jack stands instead.

You dont need to take the carburator off. Just take the 6 (I think) bolts off that hold the intake manifold on, then take it off as one whole unit. There are 4 bolts and 2 nuts as I remember. You also need to disconnect the throttle linkage cables (can be tricky), both the fuel lines, and all the vacuum lines from the rats nest.

But, if youre not comfortable doing all that, by all means, take it to someone who can .

If you MUST remove the carb from the manifold, one of the nuts requires a special bent 12mm wrench. You can buy one, for a fabulous price, but what we do is to buy a cheap 12mm wrench and hammer it into about the right shape on an anvil. You can also saw the wrench and weld it back together with the right bend.

There's a picture of the bent wrench somewhere (if you're desparate I'll hunt for it), and it's very likely that any decent Italian mechanic has one, since I seem to remember using that same wrench on Alfas and Ferraris 40 years ago!

it doesn't require the wrench - it is merely speeds up the process. I used to remove my carb with a standard set of open end wrenches. Now with the emissions removed, that tool is of even less value to me - unless I get another stock 7 soon

I thought maybe a crowsfoot wrench would reach it, too.

I swear that 12mm warped wrench was required for Italian cars!
