Re hanging my exhaust

I'm missing everything holding my exhaust up to the car, and I'm not exactly sure about how some parts should go on. Anyone have pictures? Specifically that middle area with those bent hook like bits

Depending on your year there may be minor changes, but the section you're talking about is the heavy rod hooks mounted to the front of the tailpipe section, correct? This section has rubber donuts (*like giant O-rings) that stretch over those hooks and mate with hooks on the frame of the car. You can see that they serve to pull the rear section toward the front of the car, presumably to add some tension to the design to avoid sagging.

Everything else is attached using rubber hangers which are bolted to the exhaust section mount and to the immediately adjacent body mount above it. These mounts typically have metal collars inside the rubber to help distribute force and prevent the bolts sawing through the rubber as the exhaust shifts.

Yes, you should specify what year car you have. I'm going to assume you have an FB (81-85). Download the parts fisch, it can be a big help a lot of times. Here is the FB exhaust.

Yes, those big hooks are what I was talking about. Its an 81, missing that entire back piece in the diagram. Was told previous owner snagged it on a trailer and off it went, which would explain the missing mounts everywhere. Looks like autozone sells the doughnuts so ill be ordering those shortly! Thanks for the help!

Those donuts are not nearly as substantial as the ones from Mazda. I put them on and had too much movement. I bought some from Mazda, not sure if they still sell them, but they were way better quality.

this exhaust is heavy and with a fairly stiff suspension, I just didn’t trust those skinny donuts.

Is this the piece you are missing? If so, you can have these two.

That bracket bolts to the underside of the car and holds up the rear of the muffler using 3 rubber bushing hangers and some hardware. The rubber hangers are pricy, but still available. Not sure how the muffler is mounted without it.

Yes the parts I have are the one circled in red. I also have a couple of the rubber hangers. Not new, but probably still useable.

The part circled (ellipsed?) in green is the big hanger closer to the front of the car. I don't have one anymore, but I gave one to Conekiller (on this site) when I sold him my racecar. I doubt he needs it, so you might check with him.

The parts I have are yours for the cost of shipping if you want them.

don't know if you cut it off when making a race car, but the hanger circled in green is welded to that connecting pipe.

I must have cut it off, because it was on a couple of different race exhausts before I finally bailed on it to enlarge and straighten out the exhaust system. It was sitting under my work bench for quite a while and there definitely was no exhaust tubing attached.
