Rats Nest Removal Revisited

Rats Nest Removal Revisited
Ok, I do not know if this is a good idea or not, but some people (like me) would like to loose all the emissions junk but are afraid to do it. We want instructions how to do it, but basically everyone says to just yank it out and plug all lines. Well, to us people who like to be sure what they are doing, this is not good enough. I was thinking that perhaps I could take pics of my "rats nest" and some of the experinced people here could maybe edit the photo by marking the lines that can be blocked off in red and the ones that should be kept in blue or something in that nature. Perhaps with help from you guys on here, i can make a webpage or something with good pictures on how to do it.
I am not sure what all needs to happen so I was not sure on what to take pics of in the engine bay. These are the angles i chose and if they are not good enough or somebody has a better idea for a pic, let me know and I will take more.
As you can see from the attached pics i do not have everything hooked up correctly right now. that is why I want to just remove it all.
Hopefully this is a good idea and thanks to all that help!

If someone can edit me the pics and give me the instructions, I can make the webiste for it, I could even add on to it with more and more information as it becomes available to us in the forum because i know that there is a large amount of unanswered questions that we all want the answers to.

If someone buys the domains I will set everything up, I know all about servers and such... drop me a line at:
gnanke@cadvision.com
icq: 26966912
or pm me.
(I might be able to add some to the purchase of the domain name (might is the operative word, it all depends on how bad my engine is)

and there still maybe information lacking,
or a idea or concept that changes near the end of the thread.
I like the rx7 tech site myself,
it will give me a place to throw people from my site for information, instead of having the tech section.
well if i ever get some spare cash to host my site i will have subdomains i could use,
but the site name would be like,
www.1stgen.sevensportrx7.com

I have access to high volume servers no charge. I run one from home on my broadband line and another on the seacoast, it's on 3 T1 lines. They both are DEC Alpha 600mhz machines. We could have aas much space as we need.

If someone would take the time to sift throught the archives and decent but non-archived posts, then distill all the information here, you'd have a great tech section. The info is already out there if someone has the time to compile, edit, and varify.
I kept looking for a tech section here durring my first few visits, but that's not something that this site is here for, i guess.
Just my personal prefferance, btw, but i'd set up the site so you'd enter in your cars year, and then it would spit out only the information pertaining to that year. Instead of all the years grouped together by topic(easier for newbies who don't yet know how to throw out irrelevant details). If you wanted to get really fancy, you could cross-referance everything by topic as well (better for the more advanced who like to know more than needed)

Well, I'd like to have a newbie's guide, and a list of "how-to's" and perhaps a picture archive. And a Q&A section. I'd like to integrate it into the board here on rx7club... I don't wanna take away from this site... it's great.

There's really no mystery to removing the emissions.
You just pull pretty much everything and plug all vacuum ports and hoses on the intake manifold and air-cleaner housing.
The only thing you might need are the vent lines from the fuel tank and oil filler tube.

I don't think there is any need for editing photos - you tear it all out!!! How many times does it need to be said?

If anyone wants to get the domain, i will gladly help with the sifting of information, I am pretty sure that i could get an advanced serach feature into the site where the user puts in their year and the section of support that they need and it would return all the results for that specific porblem ranked on relevancy/pictures/date/authors/comments and such
we scould have a "submit" option for more information and new ways to do old things and such, my mind is racing a mile a minute... this could turn into something pretty cool.

If you can answer those few questions... things would be much clearer. You can't just say "pull pretty much everything, because of the few things that I do know... your carb needs gas and a few other things... right? So what ones do I leave on there? What about those clear hoses that come off the front and go down to the bottom of the engine bay.

Yeah, but what we mean is this: "Pull all the hoses/tubes that are attached to the rat's nest." The "rats nest" is the metal rail thing on top of the engine. Unbolt it from the engine, and pull all the hoses which attach to it. After, plug all the inlets on the carb that were left over, except for the air vent solenoid. The rest is covered in my other posts in the other thread.
Obviously we don't mean to pull your damn fuel lines! Those aren't attached to the rats nest, they have nothing to do with what we're talking about.
Like I told you before, read your Haynes manual. Is everyone supposed to include this kinda info in every single post made on the whole forum?
Those are your oil metering lines, don't pull those lol. They aren't attached to the rats nest, and so are not to be messed with. ONLY pull things attached to the rats nest.

OK, here's the mystery... what does a hose look like? There are 3 or 4 different looking "hoses" or "tubes" there. Which ones are which? What does a vacuum port look like? What's the intake manifold and air-cleaner housing?

i posted this question in a nother thread , but it was not really answered.. for smog time, assuming i hook up a cat and the air pump (going directly to the cat), is there any way that it would be able to pass the sniffer test without the rats nest crap? has anyone tried this?
