He wasn't there last year and the car isn't on the entry list, so I'm guessing he sold it or it's sitting in the garage due to lack of funds.

The team that I worked for (mattjohnstonrally.com from Grand Rapids) at this year's LSPR used to race a civic. They were Group 2 national champions in 2005.

Sorry to sound somewhat stupid, but why not look at the specs they ran for the RX7 Savanna? Wasn't that a first generation rally car?

RX7 Savanna? Isn't that a model name?

Specialstage.com has a good amount of information prepping rx-7s for rally. From what I remember the 80s rally RX-7s were basically escorts with an rx-7 body.

good luck with your project. i'm sure you're in for an uphill fight getting parts and then sorting the car out, but nothing ventured, eh ...

on a separate note, i'm really diggin' this car and this shot.

For rally purpose, you can use your stock springs or get 1'' Spacers for a lift if you want to.

I am pretty sure for Rally America at least, your first year your very restricted on what you can drive. This is from memory of course, so take it with a grain of salt. Pretty sure your first year you can't have a turbo/supercharger, must be front wheel drive and the horsepower is restricted.

I would find a old neon or something. You are going to side it into a tree, so might as well make your first one something you can throw away.

My first year of (competitive) Rallying I would like to drive a civic. I would rather slide that into a tree (and laugh) than an RX.
