make sure your ground is good, also make sure the acc. wire isn't the illumination wire (turn on your lights and see if the power goes away). I think it best to run new wires from the fuse box to the back of the radio for best results.

what year is your seven? i had some problems with my 79, freakin electrical demons. the wires that the diagram has aren't always the right ones... for some reason my dimmer has never worked, so it somehow shorts all the switched ons in the car into constant ons... no other problems than trying to wire everything. so i ran the switch 12v to my wiper fuse block and it runs just fine, doesn't even pull too much amperage. just use a multimeter

how excatly did you go about rewiring it from the fuse box?

is it true that if you turn ur cd player on with no speakers hooked up it will fry the cd player?

thanks

make sure that your ground wire is not hooked up to the wire that is hot when you turn your lights on. Because on the stock setup it had a hot wire to light up the stock unit when the light was on. Make sure you didn't do that and put the ground wire to the chassis. Then it will turn on.

I meant, Acc and I see that someone actually already said that. But it would blow fuses real quick when you turned your lights on...

If you're blowing fuses make sure that your spare hot wire is tucked away and insulated.
