Racing beat header heat shield mod

Not too long ago I bought a rb holley streetport intake system from a member here on the forum, it was a full setup it came with intake mani, carb, air filter housing, and header heat shield, the only 2 things it was missing was the omp arm and the bolts to install the header heat shield.

So I took it upon myself to video a step by step tutorial, since I searched on the forums and couldnt find anything explaining how to go about obtaining the bolts for your heat shield.

Step 1, remove one of your intake manifold bolts and take it to your local hardware or auto parts store to determine the size and thread pitch of the bolt. I bought 4x 8inch bolts, 6x nuts, and 2x rod couplings (they join the rods together, they look like a nut bout 1inch long).

Step 2, cut the heads off of the four bolts.

Step 3, use the couplings to join together the 4 bolts to make 2 long bolts.

Step 4, thread 2 nuts on the ends of the 2 bolts take your intake manifold bolt place it along side to determine how deep to thread into the block

Step 5, thread bolt into the block and tighten down on nut.

Step 6, thread 2 nuts a few inches from end of bolts to hold against back of header heat shield

Step 7, slide header heat shield into place.

Step 8, thread the last 2 nuts on to the bolts and tighten them all down.

Tada you have now installed the header heat shield, I have included links to both part 1 and part 2 step by step videos
