I had to clean my headers on my old 88 GTU i sold a while ago ( i miss that car soooo much ). they were in pretty bad shape, i used 1200 grit sandpaper to get the dirt off, after some carb cleaner. Then some more sandpaper to get it smooth enough to see some kind of shine. Then I got some Mothers polish and did the best I could because I was selling my car at the time and I wanted the buyer to see the awesome shine. Put it this way, when i was done, it was like looking into a mirror. ( I had the RB chrome header ). Good luck!
