Well, I am going to throw the Eibach springs at you, these guys are the best at building springs bar none, they build them for everything, have doen so for many years and they are German quality. There rates are what I believe to be the best for our cars, I have Koni reds on the front and Tokico Illuminas on the rear, can't find Koni's for the rear damn it.

Your old springs have sagged so dont expect a drop but do expect it to sit square like it did 22 years ago.

I used poly bushings and the car is simply fantastic for a daily driver, not harsh and very crisp handling. I would be at the limit in an autocross but on the street it is great.

To go further than this you'll need lots of $ as the rear has to be comprehensively redesigned to make it handle well and the fronts need substantial modifications also.

Just wondering

The back seems to sit lower too

Thanks

I considered using stock rears as the softer they are (up to a point) the better you hook up on launch, this is one reason I went for Eibach as they have 100lb rears compared to 80lb stock, not too harsh a ride either as your comfort comes from the rear springs.

Thanks guys and Aussiemg, ya I am planning to get a full suspension bushing kit from ReSpeed.com soon hopefully. ya, the rear is wayyyy to bouncy fot my taste.

so Aussiesmg, do you feel that RB springs might be too stiff for the rear of the car? B/c I know the stiffer you make the rear, the easier it is to get the rear end to come out on you in a turn, which is not what you want. Possibly my tired rear shocks should be replaced?

I believe you need a moderate spring rate increase in rear only, but a good increase in the front, Eibach front springs are 171lb. I use the stock anti-sway bar with good bushings and it handles great, remember a few little companies who believe in higher spring rates over big anti sway bars like, BMW and Lotus.

I was prepared to mix and match but having driven it I wouldn't change these.

RB are more towards a dedicated autocross car IMHO, if you want a comfortable driver that you can autocross with confidence buy Eibach, I waited until I found them on eBay and paid $113, (thanks Zyrano).

Now if you want to get serious about racing that's a whole other story

Now I'll jump on my soapbox...lol

Take your car out for a drive at an autocross or where you can repeat your performance, then drive the course with the rear bar attached and then remove one end link and re drive it, I love no rear bar but everyone is different, this way you can test it back to back and judge for yourself

If I remember the Tokico's only adjustable feature is dampening. I dont think they adust height, your springs are what will determine your ride height. And also slamming an FB BIG no-no, #'s guy's FB was about as slammed as they come, I hated the way the car rode... Felt like riding an angry bull....

While I'm typing, who has the Intrax springs? I saw them on the Respeed site, and they sound like a real piece of work. But how do they compare? Are they stiff enough for competition (autoX mostly)? I already ordered RB springs, but they called today and I guess I got my address wrong or something so maybe this is my chance to cancel and get the Intrax springs instead. lol.[/QUOTE]

i have the intrax set and they are pretty stiff. dont know what the best shocks/struts would be though. bought them from respeed. good service. quick.
