Racers: looking for some free stuff?
Over the past few years ReSpeed has been working toward becoming a supplier you can trust and count on. Throughout this time we have enjoyed customer loyalty and continued growth. The last few months we have been toying with an idea. We wanted to give back to the community as well as continue to build brand recognition. We believe we have the answer.
We would like to introduce you to "Team ReSpeed".
Team ReSpeed is a program designed to help the community with product discounts as well as a fun points championship. Beginning June 1st, 2007 anyone who signs up for Team ReSpeed will be able to accumulate points and percentages based on finishing results from the races they run. Each team member will receive an automatic 5% off any purchase of "ReSpeed" brand products. Team members who currently hold the top points within their racing discipline receive 10% off any purchase of "ReSpeed" brand products. Approximately mid summer we plan to expand this to include more of the product lines we carry.
There will be a few rules to join and maintain membership status:
1) Re-Speed.com stickers must be run on the Mazda powered vehicle. One on each side of the car. The vehicle must be classified within the race series.
2) The member must create a post ( with picture ) within the "Team ReSpeed Members" section of the new ReSpeed Forum ( http://re-speed.com/forums ).
3) The members must maintain their post monthly (at a minimum) with updates.
4) Members must submit race results within 7 days of the race. The submission must be through our online submission process.
In order to maintain some form of structure we have a few things that we must dis-allow.
1) Any member found to be purchasing and re-selling will be eliminated.
2) Any member found to be ordering parts for a buddy will be eliminated.
3) Any member found to be submitting false results will be eliminated.
4) Any member who does not provide results within a 2 month period of initial sign up will be eliminated.
*Full membership status begins with the first result submission, and all 3 other rules have been met.
The points system will be accumulating for end of the year prizes. The member with the most points in each racing discipline will be rewarded with the championship at the end of the year. Sanctioning body does not matter as long as the event is recognized. At this time we are only including races run within the US and Canada.
Points will be awarded on a value system. Points for any given race will be determined by dividing the number of finishers (In your class) by your finishing position and then rounded to the first decimal point. Example: there were 7 cars that finished the race, you finished 3rd. 7 divided by 3 is 2.33333. you will be awarded 2.3 points.
This is to make sure more points "value" is awarded to a racer who beats 10 guys rather than 2. Ties in the end will be broken by number of wins, number of seconds, number of thirds and so forth.
Points will be accumulated within the following racing disciplines:
Road Racing
Drag Racing
Rally / Rally Cross
Hill Climbs / Time Trials
Autocross
So there it is. This is a way for you racers to gain just a little bit more for your racing efforts. The program will not cost anything extra other than a little bit of your time. We will update the news section @ http://re-speed.com/forums when the sign up form is ready. As always we encourage your feedback.

I hope not as well. I wanted to post in the other generation sections but I pmed the mods first since I don't venture there much. The first gen section has always been pretty good. Otherwise, where else could it be posted. Not to many have the nads to play in the lounge
Not sure what your question is? It is broken down to allow road racers to race against other road racers and drag racers against drag racers.
Sure you can. Just make sure when you sign up you will race within a 2 month period. This is just to make sure the discount is not abused by someone who does not intend to race the car.

what im gathering is it has to be a sanctioned event. like SCCA or NASA, correct? it has to be one where every one is in a class, with rounds, etc? so what if someone was a weekend autoxer? there are a lot more of those guys here than anything else.
i dont think taking your car to the friday night open drag night would qualify either.

A weekend auto crosser would qualify. Those are run by a club and usually have sanctioning. An open drag night does not split into classes does it? If not then you have no way to establish a finishing order for the event.

Thanks to my last purchase, I am a third of the way there with the stickers anyways...muahahahahaha. I'll sign up when I get back home so I can put in some pictures of Ogre, Demon, and Beast.
Three Questions...
1.) I have three cars that will be raced, obviously I will only get one discount but can I get 6 stickers (is there anything available for the windshield as someone else also asked?)
2.) Would I need to create seperate posts for each of the three cars or just put it under one thread for my race team?
3.) When the auto-x season goes away when it gets cold, miserable, and snowy up here in the No-East, what would I do about meeting the requirements to post monthly - update on parts added to the car????
Thanks again billy!

Looks good Billy. Just a couple of questions for you:
1. Who will supply the decals/stickers/or whatever?
2. Running advertising during races is perfectly fine, but on the street it's just cop bait. So, will the media be removable?
3. Can we maybe get extra credit for online videos where the Respeed name is prominent, and maybe listed as sponsor in credits? Just a thought...
Anyway, I really appreciate all of your efforts. I think this will be a great move for all partys involved...

Awesome idea Billy, I just wrapped up the rear big brakes, the ss lines fit up perfect. I did upgrade to a T2 booster, master cylinder, and p valve, the pedal feels much better now. Side note, I only had a 82 drum brake master cylinder which I think is a little too small. Your going to have to come out with so more new products, so I can use my new discount.

Billy, please consider Japanese races also
Billy,
as most of the forum members know, I have been building my car as a road racer for racing here in the Yokohama/Tokyo area.
please consider OCONUS races as well.
