Quick Question on Shifter Housing Oil

I could'nt find anyhting on this in a search.

Since I have the motor out of my 1st gen, I decided to take out the tranny too. I cleaned it, changed the front cover and also the rear output seal. I took off the shifter to see whats going on up there and to my surprise it was pretty dry inside. There was some signs of grease in there, but no gear oil.

When I put a short shift kit on my FD I remember seeing alot of gear oil in there.

Do 1st Gens take gear oil in the shifter housing or just grease?

Thanks

Should be semi wet in there with 90w... But depending on the angle you had the tranny at, it all could have ran back into the trans through the shift rod tunnel...But at any rate it should have had signs of oil in there recently...

Might wanna check the shift rod tunnel to see if you dont have a bunch of crap in there, inhibiting flow.
