Quick exhaust question...
I am going to get the rest of my Racing Beat exhaust system, but there's one thing I haven't been clear on since the beginning.
I am ordering an RB Header. I can get either a presilencer OR connecting pipe replacing the cat, right?
The RB presilencer is part #16402. But have yet to find a simple connecting pipe to go from the header to the other connecting pipe, which is connected to the muffler.
I hope all that made enough sense for a good answer.
Maybe the answer is that if I don't want a presilencer I'll have to get a custom exhaust?

How does the header connect to the presilencer? The header flange has two holes and it looks like the presilencer entrance has one.
Also... Is this the header you were talking about? http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm
It is the "streetable" header. Does that happen to mean less power because of the extra bends they put in it?

Part of my original question was...
Can you do this? Or do you have to get special extensions and connectors/ custom bended pipe from header to muffler.
Ok the picture won't load, so I'll write it out:
Header -> connector (cat replacement) pipe -> midpipe (stock) -> muffler

Actually, here... let me make this the "simple" question I promised...
Is there any way at all that I can connect the Racing Beat Road Race Header to the Racing Beat Powerpulse Presilencer?

pre-silenser? cat? what are those things?
thank god i live in ky, no emissions test, and unless you ran wide open exhaust, you'd never get pulled over for noise,
unless you need these things to pass emissions i recctff after you pass emissionsake them oomend leaving them off, i mean forget to put them on, or accidently lol

Just buy the header (with collector aka - streetable) and power pulse muffler, then use the stock connecting pipe and have one made to go from the header to the connecting pipe.

You can get the road race header if you also buy flanges get custom made pipes and such. In the end, if you aren't a machinist or can get all of that for free, it would be better financially and timewise to just get teh streetable header. From there you can add the pre-silencer.
What i don't know is if the header comes with the 02 sensor? Anybody know? And if it doesn't then what is done?

PA has no emissions restrictions, as far as I know. I would prefer a better exhaust than the typical hillbilly straight-through "custom" exhaust that the rednecks have on their big Ford Trucks.
Believe it or not, some of this stuff actually will make your car go faster.
As a matter of fact, all I can do is bolt things on to my car, and change the oil. I knew absolutely nothing about the workings of automobiles until April, 2003(my registry here). I can speak English though. My Apologies, I just couldn't resist!)

Whoops, messed up on the quoting there..hehe... damn forum servers...
I know it'll be cheaper to have my friend weld flanges and stuff... and I know a guy who can bend the pipes.
I'm poor as of now, so I think I'll bypass the whole presilencer thing. $6.55 just for a damned RB catalog? Anyone here have a used one? hehe.
Thanks for the help.

Yeah... just because some of us want a clean install on their exhausts and don't have an arc welder or a TIG around here... doesn't mean that we are any less of car enthusiasts. Yes, i do have a wirefeed welder and i can weld, but for me to bolt it on and have a nice clean install and KNOW it works is a lot more important to me than saving a couple bucks. There are times when there is no other alternative, in which case i pull out the welder and i weld that ****. Like 2 weeks ago i ran over a rock and my pickup tube on my cat was ripped off... well it costs about 150 bucks for a new one... or i could just weld it. So i welded it although i wanted to get the cat just because i knew it would be cleaner.
O well though...

This is not the "All I can do is bolt a system" forum. What has been recommended is proven. There is yet to be a better performance header for a stock ported rotary nor one that will last as long as the RB.

I've got the full RB system... Road Race header, streetport center section, and power pulse muffler. The whole system together, sounds SWEET. It's one of the most blissful things I've heard.

APT CSVT I guess yet arived a couple of years ago because there are better headers for the rx7. performance and life wise there are at least three that I know of, and probly 3-4 others that I have heard of. the least expensive of those is about 3 times the cost of the racingbeat one. the racing beat one is IMO still the best value.
