Questions on Leaning out cruise with nikki
Looking to lean out cruise on rx-7.Is this dangerous w/ a rotary? I'd like to lean out my highway cruise A/F ratio to around 15-16:1. Will the leaner/hotter burn hurt anything? My cruise is around 12.8-13.4:1 right now. What would be the best way to lean out cruise on a nikki?
What is this leanest people have gone w/o problems on the 12a's?
IS there a seperate idle and cruise circuit or are they one and the same?
I know on holleys you can place some small diameter wire to restrict the fuel in the idle/cruise circuit. Then once you find the acceptable size hole you replace the Idle Feed Restrictor block with a custom drilled piece.
Are nikki's similar?
I'm really looking for gas mileage first and performance second here. Any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks

Don't touch it. That's perfect.
Leaning out a rotary will lead to spark knock and a cracked/broken apex seal when it does knock. Rotaries need that amount of fuel due to the combusion chamber dynamics.

Not. NAs can run leaner at cruise and get better mileage. It's when the engine is under high load/boost, and lean that they can pop a seal. That's very hard to do on an NA unless it is extremely lean and the timing is way off.
As far as leaning it out, I have no idea how one would go about it at cruise.
