Questions concerning turboing a 12A engine
I want to know can I turbo my 12a with out screwing anything up? Can the seals hold? How do I turbo prep the carb?

I'm turboing my 12a right now. Seems to be going alright, there are a lot of posts and info on the site about it and seems like quite a few people have done it. I'm hoping my stock engine should hold up at low boost but I am planning on upgrading some internals asap for higher boost.

Mine Held 11 PSI befor she super heated and deystroyed herself.
Im runing a SEQ Turbo 13-G feeding a 20-G, with a holley blow through carb.
All the parts alone for the set up ran about $1,600.
I would not turbo any engine unless you have just rebuilt it with carbon apex seals other wise the boost will not hold at high RPM's and you super heat the seals.
For the smart people out there if you want a turbo engine in your first gen, do the 13B-T or TT.
You can get a jdm for around $1,500 with tranny and ecu and harness.
And if you so despritly want a 12a buy a JDM 12A-T.
I have gone through two motors and a tone of money with this turbo set up and i have come to the point were i say its not worth it!!!
Also the nikki carb is really exspensive and hard to boost prep.
Just buy the holley already boost preped.
Take it from me guys just give up wile your ahead!!!!!
