We do make a 225 amp unit with a slightly larger case, we could rate it cold and call it our 300 amp unit but we feel that would be deceptive and not in line with our current advertising. Remember, all these units are rated hot (unlike most manufacturers who rate theirs cold) so the amount of amps listed for each unit is the very minimum you will see. Even at their listed amperage these ratings are on the conservative side.

too much $$$$. I can get my stockers modded for less than half the price. but again, thats is just me.

Yes, you could take it to an alternator shop and have them rewind the stator. BUT!!!! It might (and i stress might) make 130amps cold but when it gets hot then its a different story. And I want to stress that cooling suffers greatly when you upgrade a stock small case alternator not to mention power at idle.

True that but most of the 1st genners are running carb which requires less than FC's and FD's. Good luck on your GB.
