Question On Rebuilding

Don't know who to trust on a good rebuild.
If you were gonna rebuild your rotory who would you let do it and what mods would you do?

I was thinking about Adkins Rotory and getting a streetport for my 6 port 13b SE motor.
Thanks

atkins is a very reputable rebuilder of rotary engines. as with any shop, nothing is perfect and every shop will have an engine fail prematurley. it happens. if it were me, i would go with atkins.

Rebuilding it myself because I know it will be done right.

And probably with a big streetport.

Build

well to be honest I never rebuilt a rotory motor. I do have a 12a in the garage I wanted to tear down to see hoe to build one. But with this one being my SE I would like to do it once and be done and back on the road.
I really wish I could afford Rick Engman (Last name might not be spelled right) to build it. He is Jim Downings builder.

We had Atkins install a rebuilt 12A in our '80 3 or 4 years ago. Put maybe 20k miles on it since and it's still running great, no problems, no oil leakage. All stock, reliable as long as we keep it tuned up and drive it enough.

They sold their repair shop to one of their employees right after we bought that engine and the new owner changed locations. I talked to him about 6 months after that and he told me he would be responsible for warrenty work on my rebuild. But then when I called him about a tune up he didn't return calls and I decided to move on. Things change, You can bend in the wind, or stay rigid against it and snap.

Anyway, I'm no racer, but I got fair value for the money I paid for this engine from Atkins. I'd recommend them.

I got a rebuilt 13B for my GSL-SE from Atkins about 6 months ago (street ported also) and they where a plesure to deal with, resonably priced and very helpfull with questions I had.

I have about 30 miles on it and it's still running strong!

I've rebuilt two of my engines myself. I've installed Atkins Viton oil O rings in both and they're doing great. One has several hundred miles on it (probably close to 1000 now... bad speedo cable) and the other has 6 miles on it so far (it went from a piston conversion project into my REPU and will be running again shortly).
