question about lowering height and rim offset
I have B&G springs on my car and has a 1.5 drop front and back.
So i have the 1.5 drop and I have the 15 inch Riken mesh rims, the ones with the polished lip. In the back is 205/50/15 and every bump (except for really small ones) the sidewall of the tires rubs the wheel well and in a few months time, I need new tires already I dont understand this cuz i hear of guys putting 17's on there car with no probs.
My question is does anyone know the offset of the Riken rims i have? My mechanic told me that the offset might be wrong but how can it be if i have a GSL which means the Rikens are specially made to fit the 12a bolt pattern?
If anyone has a pair of good condition set of panasports they want to trade for a pair of mint old school rikens let me know

I don't know what offset your wheels are but they sound like they have the offset the same as most of the RWD model rims for sale now. Probably like +15 or +20. Our cars tires offset are similar to all the front wheel drive cars. I tried a pair of 15x7 american racing rims with approx a +15 offset and they rubbed thge outter part of the wheel when I hit a meduim sized bump. So I didn't end of buying them. Now I have new rims with a +40mm offset (16x7) with 205/45/16 and I haven't rubbed them once. Well not inside of the wheel well anyways
Hope this helps.

I'm a little "dumb" when it comes to offsets, or shall I say uneducated. I assume my rims HAVE to be the right offset seeing as there made for the 1st gen 12a bolt pattern right?
I was thinking about rolling the fender lip and seeing if that helps.
Manntis is your car lowered? I dont get why i'm rubbing with 15 inch rims and lowered 1.5 inches and guys are using 17's and whatnot.

myrxbad: I have the GSL and you have an SE dont you? And I dont rub on the inside, its the out portion of the sidewall rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well which causes the sidewalls to be all chewn apart. Hmmmm I dont get that because I know the rikens were made for 1st gens....I wouldn't have the prob if I had RB springs which only lower 1 inch compared to 1.5

Only 2 things if could probably be.. Either wrong offset or you have a soft spring rate (which I doubt).
Do a search on offset, there was a huge thread on it a month back or so.

I've an SE, with the 38mm offset, 16" running 205/50R16s - initially I was chewing the corner of sidewall meets tread on the outside of the front wheels when hard cornering, but I had my fenders subtly flared out an inch or two (just by flexing the fenders, not adding fibreglass) and that took care of it.
