Puddle of oil on top of intake mani

Noticed this the other day when I went to check out my fluids in the bay, and it struck me when I couldn't figure out where this was coming from. The whole bottom of the carb seems to be coated with the residue from the oil and there are puddles of the oil sitting on top of the intake mani. Any ideas on what it could be? I could snap a couple pictures to give you guys a better idea of what I'm looking at. It is a holley carburetor.

Coolant perhaps, from a leaking intake manifold?

I have pools of antifreeze on top of my Holley intake manifold too. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the intake manifold gasket, or else the outer seals between the housings and irons.

The motor is old... needs a rebuild... but it still runs so I'm not too concerned yet

Are your oil metering pump lines connected or have creaks?

Those RB holley manifolds hold pools right atop the secondary ports of the engine, of w.e fluid could collect there. Sounds like you already discovered your issue, but those holleys can leak fuel pretty quickly and it sits there and blackens, appearing to be oil. Mine had the issue of holding fuel there and destroying the mani gasket after a few months. Boy am I glad that horrible carb is gone lol
