I know they make them, but I don't remember who.

The last one I saw was in one of the Sevenstock pictures.

I don't know. I have a goal to have it running (rough) by Thanksgiving. Realistically, it may take longer. The parts are here, the funds are here, the time is what's limited. As it is I have to stop working on some aspect of it (research/internet/hands-on/visting the tuners) before the wife kicks me out.

Alex just robs people blind in real estate transactions. Ever see the movie "Pacific Heights"??

(BTW noobs - we're kidding. Don't go deal drugs or rob people blind to feed your ReX habit. Just forsake all other hobbies and expenses, like the rest of us )

Thumbs down

That has to be the worst way I have ever seen to spend money! Golly, you know, there are kids in China starving to death! Why don't you take some of that hard earned 'drug money' and go donate it to Goodwill or something.

Seriously, nice job man. I am coming down in November around Turkeyday, we'll have to get together and see if that piece of crap can take anyone at Saga Bay(do they even race there anymore?) Call me Pendeho!

KILLER job Directfreak! That's gonna be one quick one of a kind car. I do think the coolant will run hot, since air will be running thru the IC first, then around the crosstube and under the MSD's, thru the AC coondenser before hitting the radiator. Where's the oil cooler gonna go?

I'd reccomend an air dam with a rubber lip under it to direct more air into the grille instead of under the car. And very good ducting under the nose to make sure air only goes thru the IC, AC C, and radiator and not around them. I'd also reccomend putting an aluminum box over the MSD's so they don't get banged up by rocks.

Keep up the good work!

Very nice custom work Direct! I like how everything is coming along.
Manntis I got your tri-gauge stereo mount recently and should be installing it soon.
The front chin spoiler I have is by Xenon, no worries about curbs or cones and I have noticed better high speed stability since I put it on.
I used to have that 3 piece lip spolier on one of my SE's
my loving girlfriend got the Mariah version..is it the same as the original Mazda Finish Line series..anyone know?
off to area 51 to try and post pics here...

Thanks!
I changed the position of the Intercooler, in a way that now leaves plenty of room for everything. (see below)
It shouldn't run hot at all. The E-Fan is 2800cfm, and the A/C E-fan is 2000cfm.

They way the IC is positioned now, Air will come in through the stock opening, and the small black grill that angles all the air into the opening. I didn't cut anything, so all the air is forced to go through everything.

I will be keeping the stock front end for a while, even though a Mariah Mode-1 wodebody is already enroute from California.

Home Made Brackets.

By the way, I just got my Turbo Exhaust manifold back, and it is freaking beautiful. I posted pics in the TurboII into GSL-SE Sticky thread on top if you guys want to see more.

I've seen Pro7 racecars run hot and they are n/a with no intercooler or AC condenser in the way! Dave with his Project 86 FC3s.org car had to ditch his front mount intercooler because it was heating up the air too much, leaving hot air to try and cool the radiator. And he didn't have an AC condenser!

Just be careful when pushing it hard. Overheating 3rd gens are a VERY common sight at track schools.

The stocker black grille is really nothing other than a rock deflecter that interrupts the airflow thru the nose. Us racers ditch it.

I also got the Xenon urethane chin spoiler, it's on my Avatar. Works well and takes curbs/driveways/trailer ramps no prob.

Later and keep up the great work!

Where it belongs, in the stock location, slightly in front of the radiator.

I love hot oil. Especially with a good massage. But as far as the car goes, The oil cooler will still get fresh clean air, that hasn't gone through the IC.

How's the truck building business coming along?

Not required in Florida. They used to be required, not anymore. Same way I used to pass, - with a $20 handshake.

From the Turbo, Straight down,
a 90° straight to the IC,
Out the IC, straight, and a 90° straight up.
Then another 70° into the Greddy intake elbow.

It will go under the radiator, and around the oil cooler.
When complete, it shouldn't be any lower than the present oil cooler.

Going back to high speed stability......Dialing-in more positive Caster (~6 degrees is good) with the help of some camber/caster plates helps out alot.
