Problems with wiper washer

I have replaced washer pump, hoses and have power to the pump, but pump will still not activate. I suppose the only thing left it could be would be the washer switch on the steering column. Hs anyone else had this problem? This is the only thing left that is not working correctly on my 85 GS. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Todd

Not that anyone is likely to take my advice as i am a N00b and a woman but....

You can simply make a jumper from the LY to the B on connector D-03 in the FSM page 20 of the electrical diagrams where you unplugged the switch .
Basically creating a constant closed circuit w/o a switch. You should hear the pump run and it should squirt fluid on your window.

If it works = bad switch, try cleaning the contacts, or get a new one

If it doesn't = wiring? check for continuity with a multimeter from wire LY at the switch harness and LY at the pump

I have come to learn that owning a 1st gen (or 2nd gen) requires owning a multimeter

thanks for troubleshooting tip

I will try the jumper wire. Great idea. I have been married for 30 years so I have learned and appreciate taking a woman's advice. Maybe if we men would listen and appreciate more of what women have to say, we could get along with them a little better.
Thanks again

One day at the drags My husband asked me what he should dial in...so i told him... XX.0 instead of what i told him he dialed in XX.1, when he ran he broke out by .09, a.k.a he got an XX.01 since he broke out he lost a guarenteed 3rd place trophy. I remind him of that when he doesn't wanna listen to me.
