Probably too late to be asking this!!

New Battery
New Starter
Distributor is fine

When I turned the key, I can hear the starter click and it seems to be hitting hard, However, the car isnt turning over.
the crank turns but there is alot of resistance (even when I remover the plugs.) the shop (local gas station) said they couldnt get a compression reading?? does the ATF treatment seem like it would be in order or help in this case? further, if it does, can someone forward the procedure?

the possible bad news!

these were the symptoms prior to me tearing into the engine to do a rebuild. so far have removed the:
A/C
airpump
alt
dizzy
EGI
air filter
most hoses and connections

My rex is a 84 GSL SE cream puff, I bout the car NEW. 80K miles

Please advise

Babied......

Thanks Gamble

Mechanically i have babied the car, regular maintenance & all that. the car at this point is 100% orig.

However, the car is/was driven 2-3 times a week, the way it was meant to be driven.

I feel it truly out-handles the 911 is most reasonable scenario's

BTW-if anyone needs me to snap a pic of something in the car to offer advice. I am at your disposal

thanks
Em

the one time i managed to swing the tail end around front was in the rain luckily nobody saw - i felt like a tool..

as for your car not starting, sounds like carbon lock.

the mmo treatment is likely to help. what you do is remove one of your leading plugs, squirt about half an ounce of mmo in the hole, turn the e-shaft pulley one complete revolution, add another half ounce of fluid, turn once more and add another half oz. replace plug and repeat for other rotor. if you can't get it to turn you may be able to rotate it backwards a little bit to loosten it up.

leave it for about 12 hours. then come back and either turn the engine backwards or push it backwards in gear and leave for another few hours.

then when you start it up, it'll probably cough a little bit as your plugs are rather fouled...wait till it warms up and drive the **** out of it for a few minutes to get the **** burned out of the engine and exhause piping.

replace your plugs and you're golden.

if you cant turn the engine over by hand to MMO it, you might try jacking up the rear end, put it in gear and try hand turning the tire ,this will rotate the engine as well, i hope,,,,,,good luck and dont be in a hurry to start it, let the MMO or ATF do its soaking for a few hours,,,,

I spoke with an owner of a 1982 GS this week who had similar symptoms. He ended up having a new 12A dropped in, only to find his original engine was just 'carbon locked'. I hadn't heard about this condition until this week. Maybe it's not too late!

Excellent

it seems as though I should put her back together and try the mmo treatment. Let me ask you this... should I do anything in particular while I have her apart???

I REALLY,REALLY,REALLY appreciate the feedback. ya'll are the best!!

Is that true? I love to drive my 7, so I drive it almost everyday!
