premix gas?

well today i was prety low on gas but i had some leftover premix from a boat, mixed about 50:1 so i thought what the heck ill throw it in, i know premix isnt the best thing for a car that still has the stock omp but i dont have cats or anything (basically a straight pipe exhaust) so i didnt see a problem (haha i couldnt see the gas go to waste) so after i put in about 10 litres i took the car out, and i didnt notice any smoke, after the car was warmed up i thought id see if it made any difference to my acceleration.. i was sort of expecting it to feel a bit slower from all the oil but it felt as if it had more power than it had before, it was unusual. could it be that the premix oil somehow lowered temperatures in the engine, or am i just hallucinating, and even if its cooler would that change it much? the weather has been fairly consistant and this is the only thing that i have done differently, can anyone explain?

Add extra oil to the fuel will up your engine compression, especially if you are getting alot of miles on your car.

Usually you will excessive blue smoke on heavy accelleration and lifting off the gas pedal, which causes a rich condition.

Risk is fouling spark plugs, excessive carbon build up in the engine and/or destroying you emission system.

well there is no emmissions system to destroy so thats not a problem, there are a lot of miles on the engine, but if i already have good compression how would extra oil raise it? i dont plan to do this very often either so the carbon buildup would be minimal im just trying to figure out why i experianced the extra power this time, oh and by the way i experianced a small bit of smoke on startup the second time but it wasnt anything that would bother me or anything

I've run premix in my car for the past 8 years (rotary PU 13B with OMP removed). Many racers with naturally aspirated engines run premix. If the ratio's correct, you'll see less blue smoke than you see in a properly running 2-stroke (which is practically none). The procedure's simple, and is generally credited with less internal wear, since the oil is better dispersed in the engine and there is no risk of it not being there, like a non-functioning OMP.

I don't know about the extra power. All things being equal, lower temps don't mean more power -- they generally mean less. If you remember your high school physics, as the temperature increases, so does the pressure & higher chamber pressure means more power.

Oil in your gas is good, I put in 8 oz of MMO per fill up, and I got my OMP working too - don't need to add oil between oil changes. I put it in the lawn mowers sometimes too, gives them a little boost, so to speak. Also, putting in the MMO at the gas pump makes you feel better, like you know something all those other people don't.
