Power Antenna & Rear Spoiler
OK
A while back I bought a three piece rear spoiler, I got it back from the body shop this week. Wanted to put it on today.
My car has a power antenna. 85 gs
The spoiler has a hole for the power antenna.
Now the power antenna has to be "unhooked" from the body & mounted to the spoiler.
Do I simply unscrew the nut & pull up the base, do I need a differant power antenna, some sort of adapter or what.
Will anything "drop" if I take off the nut on the outside. What do I need to watch out for ?

Most of the spoilers that I've seen had a provision for the antennae to go through the spoiler (a recessed area to allow the shaft to rise). If yours doesn't, and you need to mount it to the spoiler, it's easy enough to open the rear hatch, pull out your jack on that side, and reach down and hold the antennae mast and motor mechanism in place. You should have enough room to manuever it to where you can then mount it to the spoiler.
The mast mounts using the top 'ball-pivot' and the threaded nut that you're removing. This allows you to move the mast assembly around until the antennae points whichever way you want, usually straight up with a slightly rearward cant.
While you're in there, make sure that the water drain is clear and has a way to evacuate any water that runs down the mast in the rain, and OUT of the car, not just into the rear quarter. HTH,
