Possible to split body/drivetrain?

I know on the Miata you can literally lift the entire body off the drivetrain (like this) I was wondering since the FB shares a similar construction if it would be possible to do the same and what all would be involved? Long story short my current racecar has body damage that would easily equal/exceed the value of the car if I had it fixed and I got a parts car with a straight body but very worn drivetrain for dirt cheap. Thinking if this is possible Id swap bodies and then either scrap my current body or keep it as a roller only (car is used to help raise funds for a non-profit primarily so I could then have 2 cars vs 1)

Sure you can.

Undo the front subrame, undo the transmission crossmember, undo the rear axle, lift body off.

Skipping a considerable number of steps, obviously.

Although I see no point in doing it as one step, it would be way easier to swap axles first, then swap engine/trans.

I'd only ever do that with a newer Corvette.

Alright, I can't find it but there's a build thread on this forum somewhere that someone took an FC frame and cut the body off of it and dropped an FB body on the FC frame. So he had IRS, 5-lug, FC frame with an FB body on the top. I can't find it right now but some more searching might help.

Here it is, but Adam is quite a few dishes short of a full dishwasher. Definitely not the way to do it for the faint of heart.
