Possible Catalytic Converter Removal?

My 1983 12A 65K miles has been acting up lately. Lots of rotten egg smell. Acceleration had been poor and idle has been eratic. I think it might be the catalytic converter. If I remove all of them and put a straight exhaust, will it mess up the fuel/air ratio or the carbuerator? Any bad side effects besides a loud car and extra exhaust fumes?

Do the rat's nest removal along with it (see FAQ section) and you will be fine. When I removed mine, it fixed the fuel smelling exhaust rather than add to it...

Good point Kentetsu. Mine has a bad smell of gas and as far as i know is not me farting. The guy a bought the car from told me that the catalytic converter had to be replaced. So am thinking in getting that junk out of there and go strait with silencer at the end. If am not mistaken Racing Beat sales a pipe design for that space ones you removed the catalytic conv.

Thanks for the input.
