Popping front end revisited
I ran into a few guys who'll let me use their shop on Saturday if I can find all the hardware I need. My front end pops over bumps. I plan to replace the wheel bearings, but I don't see bearings listed for the upper strut mounts. Is it a bushing or what? I happen to live near Victoria British, so I'm gonna snag everything that's a good idea to replace on an old front end. Suggestions?

they dont list the upper strut breaing seperately, you would have to press it out and match it

Victoria British has a thrust bearing for 79-80, then just a spacer for 81-85. Any way I can find the bearing beforehand? I won't have time with the car in the air to go and find one on the spot. Surely someone's done this before.

Mazdatrix has the upper strut mount as a unit, but at $70 each, no thanks.

Mine made crazy noises over bumps, and it ended up being the idler arm bushings. I just bought a new idler arm assembly for about $35 from VB - fixed it all up.
