PLEASE help me!!
Ok I just came back from installing my Full RB Exhaust system for my '79 12A. After 3 hours(yes, 3 hours! the bolts couldn't come off so we had to use a blow torch for ages) my car runs like ****!
When I started it, it would die when the RPM's were lower than 1200RPM. I removed the air pump and that pipe and I also put the two block off plates that came with the kit. After messing around with the carb for like 10 minutes, we finally got it to idle at about 900RPM. But man instead of gaining power I lost power! I floored it and **** it took me forever to move!
What can possibly be the problem? Maybe my air/fuel misture is way off and maybe my timing is way off,,, but I didn't read anything about the car choking near 1000RPM after installing the RB System. I just hate the fact that I paid 1100$ CDN for this and I didn't gain any power.
My mechanic said that I lost power because I removed the air pump. I was like wtf are you talking about.. he said that the air pump goes through the carb and after it shoots air into the thermal reactor, and when the thermal reactor has too much air, the air is by passed to the carb and that gives the carb a boost of air pressure and therefore a gain in power? What's he talking about?
Sorry for the long post, but I'm really pissed so if any of you guys can give me some advice of what to do, please do so it will be very appreciated!

I forgot to tell you guys that I didn't install my Dual Alternator pulley, I kept the original pulley with the original belt because I didn't have a chance to order the 2 belts needed for the pulley from rotorhead.ca
Can that be a problem? Other than the belt slipping at high RPM?

All I did is listed up there.. I only put in the new exhaust system and removed the air pump...
Maybe the reason why I "feel" that there is less power is because I didn't really rev too high because I didn't want my alternator belt to slip. Is it possible that at low RPM, there is less power since there is less backpressure but at high RPM(where the Exhaust system makes it's peak power) I could feel the difference? I just find it a little weird that I didn't gain more than that.. I could always drive it to 7000RPM and hope my belt won't slip too much and see if I had a nice gain on the top end..

Ok I just went for a little ride.. I think my car is ok.. I feel more power on the low end(opposite of before) and now I'm wondering if my secondaries are opening.. the mechanic was trying to fix my car since the car would die... so he disconnected some tubes... and I'm sure some of them are supposed to be connected.. I took some pictures
1st picture:He disconnected a hose that was going in the pin(we see it stick out on the middle right of the picture) and he also took off a connector(something electrical???) where the orange circle is
2nd picture:He took out the hose where the pin is behind the black hose in the middle of the picture.. what did he remove?
3rd picture:We see the air pump not doing anything and the ACV Block off plate
4th picture:Another block off plate
5th picture:He disconnected some tubes off that blue air filter bonnet

If you are unsatisfied with your RB system, you can always give it to me.
Seriously though, you've got a vaccum leak somewhere due to all the half-assed work this mechanic has done. Check out the mazspeed tutorial concerning removal of the rat's nest. That should have all the info on which hoses need to be plugged or left open.

The RB system is good for a twenty two percent increase in power according to the RB site, so you will definately notice the difference once your car is running right.
