ok, so i've done quite a bit of reading on this subject but haven't come across this problem yet. i bought a federal mogul pilot bearing and bought a pilot bearing seal from the dealership. now that i have to two of them it seems that the seal is too small for the pilot bearing and won't fit over the edges. did i get the wrong seal or bearing? the bearing # is BCA 152016.

I don't know which one you got from your dealership from the part number you gave out.

 

the part # i gave is for the pilot bearing that i got not the seal. the pilot bearing is a federal-mogul. the seal is from the factory. they both resemble the pictures but as far as the outer diameter they're almost exactly the same. so the seal will not fit over the outer rim of the bearing. i don't know if it's supposed to but logic would tell me that it should.

 

The bearing and seal should be the same exact diameter to fit inside the flywheel.

 

ok i got that part figured out. but now i'm faced with the possibility of my e-shaft being totally destroyed. i think that's the case. i'll try to post pics tomorrow or sometime.
