Haha, my little project machine finally got a warrant of fitness, It doesnt look much at the moment, Its booken in the paint shop in 2 weeks tho, so a little more prep work and it will be a minter. When I got it, It wasn't running, had no interior, and all the wiring was cooked or cut. Iv'e been working on it for about 2 months now, And this is as far as its got. but @ least I know its rust free now. Its a 12a bridgeport, eventually hoping to have a blowthrough turbo setup, Im rebuilding a series 4 turbo for it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. It was a good idea to build up anticipation like that!
To the Americans: Every six months, a car in NZ needs to undergo a thorough mechanical investigation to be allowed on the roads.
So during a rebuild, getting your "Warrant of Fitness" is the point where it's declared street legal. It's the big moment.

Here's my green door, the other one was built almost entirely of bodyfiller when i got it so it had to get scrapped, the green door on there now however is possibly the straightest example of an original '79 rx7 door I've ever seen.

Alriight, Here is my rather messy and uinfinished interior, When I got it, It had NOTHING in there, completly empty. I re-carpeted the entire car with nice lightweight stuff. I havent finished making those door trims yet, But I'll get there.

...And here's my 'lil 12a bridgeport. I have a highrise K&N filter for it @ home but i have to cut the hole in the bonnet for it first, so im just goin with the frying pan for a while. Notice the alternator isn't plugged in, thats the only thing thats stopping me drivin round much at the moment, Its overcharging the battery, Putting in 16V at idle and more as the engine revs, My battery was swollen and threatening to explode. Anyone close to or in NZ have a voltage regulator they wanna send me? or would an S4 altanator work at all? cos i have those here.

The wheels are Motoform Cobra's I have a feeling they are either NZ of AUS manufactured, yeah they came 4x110, everyone seems to like those type of wheels on their oldskool rotarys in NZ, I've had heaps of people trying to buy them off me in the couple of days I've been driving it.

Here's my not so fancy exhaust that the pulses escape from. For such a little motor...It makes a shiit load of noise. Im running 2 x 2" primarys with resonators to the back of the gearbox then merging into a 2.75" straight through to the muffler at the back.

yeah still running the mildy modded nikki carb on there, but hey with the condition I picked that thing up in it's almost a miracle its goin at all. It pulses pretty hard but is breaking up at high rev's, starving out maybe, im not too sure yet. I definately got my eyes open for a 48 IDA or maybe side draft webber or somthing a little bigger if im serious about goin through with the blowthrough turbo setup....
The s4 alternator WILL work?...GREAT, but is it internally regulated? the S1 alt's are externally regulated so would I just bypass all the voltahe regulator and **** from it?. I got heaps of s4 parts @ home, Its a good idea to put the s4 oil cooler on there too isn't it?
COPS HATE BRIDGEPORTS.
