Pics of my soon to be 84 GSL-SE!
I took a drive out to where the GSL-SE which I will be purchasing is sitting to get some pictures. Here we have a beautiful car with louvers, a targa band, and other trim packages. I think it looks great and is a very salvageable car.
Here is the car:
What you can see of the interior in this pic.
The louvers:
The rear wheel wells which were part of the problem of my last GSL:
These as you can see are in great shape and will just need a little attention to keep clean.
Next is the other problem my GSL had:
These are also in great shape considering my last one these completely rusted off.
The only real trouble spots I can see is the rear suspension as show below:
I'm not too terribly worried about it right off the bat since suspension is replaceable and fairly simple to build compared to the unibody.
All in all the car has some rust spots and areas where it needs a good bit of paint and clear coat to bring it back cosmetically(the targa band) and the whole car will need a good going over with sand paper, a grinder, and a sander. I want to really get the under body good to pull all of that surface rust off and then treat it with a truck bedliner spray to really protect it.
I think this car has a lot of potential to be fully restored and protected from further deterioration.
I'm going to re-paint it the same color, put on a front air dam and side skirts, put a wrap around spoiler on like my GSL, get some 16" wheels and repaint/touch up the black trim paint around the windows and on the targa band. The seats are coming out because of them being worn and my seats from my GSL are going in.
All of this within the next 3 months. This thing will be beautiful.
BTW
There are a few more pictures in the folder on my site:

Here is my P.O.S. truck I've been driving. Good old '84 F100 4.9L In-line6. Needs new calipers, rotors, and brakes. Just driving it in to the ground right now. I need to get on it though so as to have an alternative when the Se7en is down for work.

I love white on them, especially with this trim package. Black for this trim package is a close second but then I feel like Hasslehof in Knight Rider.....
Now the fun factor is going to be outrageous. This is a 6port 13b FI. I only know se7ens from a carbed 12a point of view so I'm going from maybe 115hp(minor crap deletion mods on the motor) to somewheres around 146hp(I think that's the number if I remember correctly).
This straight6's odometer stopped working at 377,000+/- miles.
On a side note: Can I basically bolt a Tii manifold, Tii turbo, ECU, harness, injectors, fuel rail, exhaust, oil pump, and fuel pump to this motor with as little modification as possible? I don't think I can without having to fabricate things and most likely rebuild the motor but I was just wondering. I know the 13b in the SE's is different then the FC 13b.

I'm pulling the door cards to tighten up the door lock cylinder tomorrow so I'll see then. Thanks for the heads up.
This damn thing really wanted me to buy it.
At first we sat there trying to start it and it wouldn't no matter what. Just when we were about to quit and try again in a week or two I said I wanted to try one more time. Sure enough the thing fired up.
I rolled it over to the gas station next to the garage it was parked at and added a quart of oil and $10 of gas. Sure enough the thing fired back up but this time it idled at 800rpm and purred beautifully!
So yea, went ahead with the deal after driving it around the block for a bit to get a feel for her.
Mmmmm.... I'm so happy. It's sitting out front right now. A little later I'm going to pull it into the garage and start tinkering with it.
Thanks to JohnandPam for putting me in touch with my dream car.

For a rust belt car, that one is in amazing condition in the wheel wells. Be sure to puul the bins and look at the inside of the whel wells. Stock SE was 135 fwhp. The TII intake can bolt up with some mods, but you need to make sure the engine is in very good condition 1st, othrwise it won't last long. Great find.
If you restore the underbody parts, sandblast and coat with a 2 part eposxy, or scrape the rust and coat with POR-15, before spraying the truckbed liner.

Thanks for the tips man. I figured you'd know exactly what to do.
Yea, I can't sandblast it so I'm gonna scrape it and do the POR-15 and bedliner. I think that, combined with the great condition it is in, that it will last a very long time as is.

hey... I am glad it has been working out well for you. We were very happy to see it go to an awesome home. Between work and kid stuff.. we did not have the time and money to do it the justice it deserved. I am looking forward to seeing the pics as you fix her up though.
