Pics from Lime Rock Park
So I went to Lime Rock yesterday for vintage european and japanese sports car show. Naturally, I took my 79, and of course, was the only RX-7 there. The only other Mazda was a 323 gtx AWD turbo. There was about a dozen Z cars, tons of MG's, Triumphs, Austin Healy's whatnot- but only a few Jap cars. I got the best spot of all though- right on the start/ finish line. I also took a walk around the track with my dad. He didn't even want to bring the because he thought it wouldn't make it the distance (about 80mi. each way) Well, made it there and back with no problems, averaging about 23 mi/gal.
It was a pretty cool show- a lot of people came and talked to me about the 7 and how they used to have one, or something like that. In some ways, it was cool being the only 7 there.
Anyway- here's some pics

Nice looking car man.Way to go getting the best spot.I love the SA's especially in white.Maybe someday I will head over to CT,and we can get together.I am planning a local MARX-7 club gathering pretty soon at my place,if you are interested.I actually brought my 79 to a large local car show last night, and I was feeling really wierd being maybe the only Japanese car at the show.I felt out of place, but who cares,I got to park in the show, and walked around looking at the other cars.I didn't see anyone really looking my car over very hard, but then again I was chasing my 3 year old around, and making sure he didn't touch any of the muscle cars. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks, talking to all those people about it was pretty cool, espcially being the only one there and all.
the set up cost $600 + $50 for shipping. Now, I believe the system for the SA's are $650 + shipping. The prices keep going up!!

Here is an in-car perspective of Lime Rock from Todd Buras in the Pro Spec Miata series last year.

Yeah, Lime Rock is beautiful.
No one can race there on sundays due to sound restrictions so they usually have a car show. That weekend was the Rolex GT series race. It was pretty cool walking through the paddock and watching the various race teams working on on their cars and practicing pit stops. Someday, I wanna race there.

Nice car...nice pictures. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I remember taking my '79 to Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin a few times shortly after I bought it...fun times.
Your signature is made even funnier by your mispelling of "Wankel" LOL

yeah there were tons of older porsches there- it was cool seeing one or two, but 20 of them just got boring.
yes, a lot of people asked questions about it. Just about everybody They had a guy interviewing people going around with a microhphone that broadcasted over the entire show, and he even interviewed me too. Except he kept calling the rotor a "rotor piston" ugh. My car is in pretty good condition, but nothing like some of the "concourse" restorations there, but still a lot of people inquired about it. I talked a long time to an older guy who had one when he was younger.
And just about 100% of the people that walked by stopped to look at the rotor, or take pictures of it.
It's an excellent display piece ot have infront of your car.
