Pics of holley carb setups?
Anyone have pictures of their holley carbs setup? I am going to be doing an install on one and I am just wanting to make sure I know which lines go where... especially the oil metering... I know I have to connect the rod to the pump, but I am not sure where the lines go. Anyway, if anyone has any pictures or instight it would be great to see them!

Driven a turbo FB lately?

Any out of the box Holley is modified for the usage of an OMP, or at least if I remember reading that in one of Mazdatrix catalog. There drill places in the carb and insert nozle opening for the oil to be injected with the gas.. Unless things have changed since I read that and Holley now makes a factory fresh rotary carb? Anyone know ?

No, I don't believe Holley makes any carb for a rotary. As far as I know, they all need to be modified some to work properly on the rotary.
If you have Racing Beats system, they use a modified 4160 and you 'T' the two oil metering lines together down by the omp, then slide the single oil metering line onto the nipple that is actually in the inspection port on the primary side of the carb.

I dont think RB uses a 4160, I am pretty sure the 4160 is a 600cfm vac sec and RB uses a 465cfm. I wouldnt tap for the omp, I would Pre Mix! That is what I do Caster 4 oz to a gallon, RB suggests 3.5 oz a gallon. If this piece of **** server would let me post my pic it would be up a 1/2 hour ago, Damn gAy.O.L doesnt help much!

WOOOO, starting to think i still should have i dunno, but anyways, they say they BORE OUT THE JET HOLES ???? the way he was talking you could never even think of using a normal holley. ???? oh well

Well on the 4160 there is a metering plate for the secondaries instead of regular jets. SO youd have to drill the metering plate holes to enlarge the jets. Adding a metering block to make it like a 4150 would eliminate that problem.

I'm using Castrol super outboard oil.
1.3oz per gallon = 100:1 ratio
3.2oz per gallon = 40:1 ratio
4.0oz per gallon = 32:1 ratio

I didnt mean 4 0z to 1 gallon! I meant 4 0z to 5 gallons! ! ! my screw up wasnt typeing what I was thinking. RB suggest 3.5 oz to 5 gallon. Running 1oz to a gallon wont mess anything up just run rich, personally when I ran 1 oz to 1 gallon I fouled plugs and had to watch for idleing to long, then when I did idle for a while I would have to clear out the gunk. Sorry for the miss post???

Yes it's true, racing beat does a lot to the holleys to make them work well on a rotary. I am finally getting around to making mine perfect on my setup. Even straight from racing beat it doesnt garantee the carb will be perfect for YOUR engine. The idle circuit on my metering block still needs to be drilled out some more, and I still want to experiment with a bigger primary jet...but the secondaries pull nice and strong all the way to 8500 rpm. I recomend doing the center pivot float bowls too, by the way. I can take some pics of my setup tomorrow...

Wow...so many "holley-tards."
I really don't think RB does much to the 465cfm 4160 carb to make it "work" with the rotary. Enlarging the holes in the secondary metering plate is borderline stupid considering how easy it is to add a secondary jet plate (30 dollar kit from Scummit or Jegs), and everything else looks like typical Holley-fare.
My brother's SP12A car has the RB Holley kit out of the box, and runs rich, but quick. I dig it, big time...

FD Racer: What does drilling the idle circuit do? Does it make it idle better?
Does anyone know anything about velocity stacks for the 600? The only thing I have come across even similar, would be the substack from K&N, but Iam interested in something similar to the Weber style stacks. Also does anyone have any info about taping the air bleeds to make them adjustable?

All this idle chit chat, lets talk tech. What is done to your holley's and what are your theorie's behind what you are doing to them and what you are wanting to do to them? Or are you happy with the way it is and not planning to change anything?
With my set up, my best 1/8th mile time is 9.8 , so far. Anybody know what thiers is running?

As far as engine idle, It may improve a bit after I'm done, but its a streetport so It'll never be perfect.
