Pics from Australia of 1st gens in motorsport
Hi,
On the weekend I volunteered at the local Hill Climb. I don't think you guys have this exact sort of motor sport in the 'States (forgive my ignorance if you do). Basically it's a purpose built track up and around a hill. Cars run one at at time.
Anyway - lots of pics here: http://resources.dmt.canberra.edu.au...os/sdma040801/
Pics are of all sorts of things that ran on the day.
And a few samples of the 1st gens that were there:
This one runs a 13b 6 port, Weber and 4.44 LSD
This one is basically what you would call an 85 GSL. It's got aftermarket springs, Konis and some other basic mods.
This is what's basically called a class 3J car. Race bridgeport, race everything else, not able to be road registered.
He was going for some drift over the finish line but over cooked it
You don't have to do a big smokey burnout, usually a small one will do, but in this case he set his fastest time afterwards.
I will also be able to tell you a bit about any of the other cars in the other pics, or the hill climb in general if you ask nicely.
I suppose I should explain about the track. It looks like this:
Start at the bottom, do 1 lap, cross the finish (red) line and then exit down the grey part. Sometimes they run it as a two lapper. Most cars are topping out in 2nd, or touching 3rd at the top of the uphill straight and are in third over the top of the hill.

*sigh* OK.
I have absolutely no idea about the origins of the front spoiler. I would guess it's a custom job. In any case even if I did know what company made it, it's not going to do you a lot of good as it's in Australia, half a world away from Washington state and even further from Connecticut (that's CT, right?) Surely its easier to buy a front bar from Mariah?
