Parking break

I just started my car from.sitting all winter and it had the parking brake on. I took it down my road and back and everything felt fine but the Brake light stayed on the whole time. Stuck sensor or partly seized parking brake?

If the brakes didn't feel like they were dragging, it could be the fluid level. Most likely that is fine, and the sensor is just sticking and illuminating the light.

Your master may be leaking into your booster so you can't see it.

occationally my light stays on. i turn the car off (leave the ebrake down), start it back up and it's off. 10/10 for me it's the sensor just didnt read right and a restart fixes it. GL

Sticky sensor then. You can try cleaning it with electronic cleaner and see if that helps.

If we're talking about the brake fluid level sensor, then it just slides into the side of the brake fluid reservoir. Slide it out, slide it back n and see if the light goes on, then off. If no change, the take the top off the reservoir and see if the plastic float is stuck, and unstick it. The float has a magnet in the bottom which closes a reed switch in the slide in sensor. Nothing much else to clean, really.

No hydraulic way for the parking brake to stay on - it's mechanically applied when you pull on the parking brake handle and is cable actuated to force the pistons out and hold the rear brakes in place. When released, no parking brake tension.
