Panhard Help
Hey guys,
I recently purchased this setup off of ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT Well it didn't come with any instructions. This is supposedly the kit that ground control used to sell. Can someone help me out on how it mounts on the car? maybe some pictures? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Give Jay a call at Ground Control, because you will need some parts that will need to be welded to your car for mounting.
If you are planning to drive this set up for the street, you should reconsider that thought. But I know there are members out there that are doing it, but to each his own. NOISY !!!!!

Man i'm totally lost now. Those mounting points were fabricated? From what I can gather off of the ground control site it was a direct replacement of the watts and has optional welds for hard driving. Is this not the case?

I have been running one orf those on the street for a couple of years now and they really are not that loud.
It is good to see that you have welded in the conection point, you can pull them out pretty quick.
Kai, the panard bar links to one original point and a block that is bolted on the axles housing. (Then after a a couple of day and you have pulled it out of shape you weld it in).
So, did you get mounting pieces for the third link? Can you post a photo of them?
Thanks ~ JEB

You MUST weld in the left lower bracket and gussets to the left rear shock lower mount. Although the directions say it is optional, take it to a muffler shop to weld or it'll rip out.
As for the right connection to the frame, it mounts in the STOCK watts link upper right frame mount. It needs spacers for the heim joint so the heim will be located a little more forward, off center. Otherwise the heim and panhard will rub on the watts link mount.
What installation pieces came with my GC panhard:
bracket to mount panhard lower left of axel
gussets to weld to aforementioned bracket and axel.
heim spacers for upper right frame mount.
Longer bolt for lower left axel bracket
New bolt for upper right frame mount.
You NEED all of these.

Well that helps a lot. Except now I have to fab everything cause the gussets didn't come with the ebay purchase and ground control no longer makes them.
Kill no cone, I got the third link as part of the ebay purchase not knowing exactly what it was. I have no intent on using it so if you want it make me an offer.
Drivefast7, Where can I get these spacers for the heim joint on the stock watts link mount? Also will I need these same spacers for the mount to the axle?
Everybody, those of you using the panhard bar what spring rate have you found best? I'm in the process of purchasing springs all the way around and haven't decided what I want on the back. PRetty sure i'm going with the ground control coil over kit on the front but a little skeptical on the spring rate up front too. Car is going to be mostly street driven with occassional autocross. Any ideas will be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hey Jeb,
I like the way it's setup. Is that pretty stable for you? So do you have templates only or can you make me the mounts and all I would have to do is weld them to the axle? Also you mentioned something about spacers for the mount point of where the watts link was on the passenger side. Do you have those available too?
Thanks for your help, Bob

Bob,
Once the box steel is welded in (on both the top and bother side of the box) it becomes very stable. I believe that the spacers I used for the mount to the watts link we just thin slices of a peice of 1/2" steel pipe.
I work at a college and with graduation life is just nuts here. I will not be able to make you a mount, but I will scan the template and email it to you in the next couple of days. When I scan it write in the demonsions and place a ruler in the image so you can scale the image if you need to.
Take care and race fast
