lol No worries at all mate.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia someone mentioned. Apparently the clear coated metal Rx-2 in this pic was the 1 000 000th rotary Mazda to roll off the production line. That was in 1973, some 5 or 6 years after the R-100 first went into production. 29 years later Mazda has yet to hit the 2 000 000 mark.

Yep, I really want one of them vented bonnets (hoods).

They look very cool, and are probably very cool.

Did anyone else cry because we'll never see that many beautiful first gens? I'm sad now, people think I'm stupid for putting the little money I put in my 7, but from the looks some of those cars have brand new sport car budgets. Let's all take a moment to curse emission regulations.

I've heard the Rx8 will only be $25-30k. That's not too bad really.

Nice post. Great looking cars. Anyone know if these are recent photos or of past years? Thanks.

umm those weeny exhaust ports are as said RX-3 10A exhausts, the R100 10A has the normal type ports, but also the RX-2 twin dizzy 12A's I have (about 4 or 5) also have that style of exhaust port.

I beleive they went to the three-hole exhausts in an attempt to quieten the exhaust a little, which seemed to work, as my ported twin dizzy was much louder thru the same exhaust, and that had the 3 holes all joined into one large port

I hope someone knows, I'll kill for this hood. Mmmm, reminds me of the Rx7 vs GTR vid. 'cept it's not purple...or beating a skyline around the track.

You could probably turn your stock hood into that. Maybe find a sheetmetal shop near you and see if they can stamp some louvers into it.

Yea really, all they have to do is seperate the hood support first, then its just stamp, lather, rinse, repeat!

I want that hood and the mirrors!!! I'll steal for it if I have too Well, I probable would'nt... But I really like them. Especially the "253-style" mirrors are cool...
As for the hood, I might try to make a fiberglass vented hood someday. But not with so many louvres, more like the other pic, were the radiator has a channel through the hood.
Anyway, why don't we all go living in Japan???
