That is a very good question.

I'm usually pretty laid back, but I've had about all of this kind of thing that I'm gonna take. This is everybodys first and final warning. Stop the flamming!.

If you don't like somebody elses car because of how it looks or what it has under the hood, keep the stupid, childish arguments and comments to yourself! There is no need to post them! If you want to argue with somebody, send them an email or a pm!

Again, we've been pretty tolerant about this as it hasn't really happened a lot in the recent past. However, if it continues, I will be dealing with those that I, or the other mods/admins, deem responsible. This post isn't directed at any particular individual, but rather to the group as a whole.

As a side note, it's pretty rude to those who are discussing the topic at hand when other people come in and argue amongst themselves.

I fully support V8kilr. The RX-7 is a rotary car. Dropping in a V8 destroys the whole concept of a classic.

I am not interested in its 1/4 time but the pleasure it brings me. My daily driver is a stock Nissan which does 13 seconds with the whole family on board but it is just another lump of metal.

I have nothing against V8s, had one of the first AC Cobras which had a fantastic 1/4 time but always wanted to go straight ahead at the curves

My RX-7 is 18 years old and I intend to keep it stock,with a few replacement upgrades, for another 18 years until the World's fuel runs out when I will put in the garage sitting in it occasionally to remind me of what driving was all about.

for the original question, rotormotordriver, i agree with sterling ... man, you've got 4 Rx-7s, do what you wanna do with it and **** what anyone thinks! it's your car, and it's your money, and if it's going to bring you pleasure ... man, go for it!

on the Rx-7 with a V8 issue ... well, i personally, like purity. i mean, love a well-built car, but i just think that Rx-7 were not meant to be separated from a rotary. but like i said ... it's MY opinion, and it doesn't stop me from giving props to the next guy who drop a Ford or Chevy or Chrysler V8 in it ... ****, he could hook up two hamsters and a Duracell for all i care ... as long as it serves a purpose and makes a statement, and makes him happy ... i will admire it! period!

now for this beef between V8kilr and winnipeg85gsl ... well, i don't know either of you, so i'll refrain from passing judgment ... it's not my style ... but from what i saw this thread is really turning into one of the ones from the Gen II forum (a lot of them are a bunch of cry-babies and just downright rude!) ... so it's really a shame that we're coming to this.

v8kilr, i know how you must feel, i got some guy from the Gen II forum that said something really nasty to me. all i can say is try your best to ignore it ... i've never seen your car, but regardless of what it looks like, it's yours and i'll respect it. it's what makes each of us special, else there wouldn't be a point to any of this.

winnipeg85gsl ~ all i've seen is what's in this thread, i don't know if you two had beef before this, but i'm gonna be real ... that **** is lame! your opinion is fine, and no one has the right to say it's "wrong", but you could have done it with a bit more class! if you want to start **** with me ... hey .. that's on you, but that's just how i feel.

i have several rx7s and i did a v8 swap in a 85 i put a 5.0 with a aod tranny car is very strong handles well and will lift the tires in the quarter dont get me wrong i love the rotary however the v8 swap isnt hard and will yield a lot more power for the money and more than double the torque my next project is a 351 stroked to 393 ci will have about 500 hp with 200 more on the button. The v8 swap makes a great sleeper my 393 swap will appear completely stock and streetable and with nitrous will be at around 700 hp

 

Definitely need a picture if this beast, especially lifting the front tires. No way a stock rearend will do this and a four link or ladder set-up handles like crap, so what does it really excel at? Can't be handling if it pulls the tires...can't pull the tires if it handles... ...this is assuming, of course, that the car actually exists...some pics would be nice...

Mario was right... he told be about the flammer.... and I didnt know where he was talkin about.. its one of the many threads I pass up... and then see that Mario posted.. so I think there might be somthing useful.. or some words I can chime in and me be of some use....... so I check it out.....

well.... I am with V8kilr..... we have had our arguments... but still... at least he wasnt an ******* about everything......and I have seen his old? car.... (didnt you part it out???) And I gotta say.... I can honestly say it looked GOOOOD..... I mean... if you drive an import.... you gotta be aware that itll be called rice... so might as well make it look good why you are at it
