Ok, what do you think about this one...

I have 4 RX-7s. 1985 GSL-SE, 1985 GSL, 1984 GS, 1983 GSL. Three run and are fully functional, one of which is semi modded with exhaust intake, MSD, and some other goodies...The 84 GS was a parts bitch. I stole the engine out, and some other parts. I was thinking that since this car is so beat to hell, that it would make a REALLY good sleeper with like a Chevy 350 or something under the hood. I know that doing this is frowned upon, but i really wanted to do somehting like this with a 280Z or something, but I already have an RX-7 that has no other purpose other than to sit there and get rusty, so I was thinking "why not". I just wanted to know what you think. If you all REALLY think its that bad of an idea, I'll just part it out, no biggie. Plus I dont really have the money to do it now anyway...

rx means rotory go find a chevette and drop a small block in it. I almost did this but i saw the light and it was an 12 street port for $1500

For the same amount of money you could swap a small block into the Bx-7 Yeilding probably twice as good results as a streetport 12a(maybe not)

Keep RX-7s on the road! Put in a small block Ford!

(Chevys suck - they're heavy, weak, and the distributor is in the back where it doesn't belong)

Lol....
Putting a ford in an Rx-7 is almost as bad as putting a boinger in it but in the name of performance

Ford owns Mazda. So it will be related. I wouldn't do it, but If I would, it would be a SBF 302.

SBF's are the ideal swap boinger for RX-7s for MANY reasons... SBCs are a real compromise, both in basic design and in installation-specific ways.

You're maintaining three other rexs? Then not only do you automatically earn the right to do with what you please the fourth, but also to tell anyone giving you grief about it to **** OFF!

Do all us a favor, though, and do a step by step photo deally so's we can all watch your progress.

Why would you end up with an automatic? Also, I hope you arent putting this engine into your monstrosity of a car, it doesn't even deserve a V8.

OUCH. Low Blow..

Why would you say that about his car? It's not your style, then fine, but jeez.

You're running a V8 as it is (thin ice), don't expect to make more friends by raggin' on Dave's ride.

He's a spitting image of rice, huge wing, ricer muffler, gay tails, huge tach, walmart shift ****. Need I say more? Can anyone honestly say they like how his car looks? I'm just voicing my opinion, just how he voices his about cars like mine (V8).

Yeah, actaully I can HONESTLY say I like the way his car look. As a matter of fact, his car is the only reason I even CONSIDERED putting a wing on mine...I personally love it. I think it all goes together quite nicely. If i knew my car would look as good as his with that wing, Id put on on my car.

Apart from the wing the car looks pretty good IMO... definately more tasteful than your shitty boat anchor conversion.

ok where should i start,
i bought my first rx7 in 1998
i have since owned 6 cars and there all rx7's
nothing else,

i started that project before there was even a such thing as rice and the price tag on the wing shows,
this is the second time you have talked **** and tried to flame,
if you keep going with this you will be booted from the forum,
i am a well known member here and have many many friends,
quite a few i know personally and have spent time at their houses,
i am also the president of the michigan rx7 club

YOU are the LAST person in this section that even has an opinion that amounts to somthing more then a pointless sentace that someone would stuter out when their drunk,.
mainly because you have a v8

and my name is not v8kilr for no reason,
i got that name from video taping me smoking nothing but your big bad v8's
and if i cant beat you in a 1/4 mile i know i will take the win in a slalom event

second you bought a car that is known for its engine and stripped it of what the name itself stands for
the rotary

90% of every post i make here is useful information and thats why im loved here

if you want to talk v8 and flame on rx7's then get the **** out of this forum and head on over to z28.com

i think thats enough said

You're gonna boot me? Haah, sure. Also why do I care if you have friends on the forum, wow someones more popular in the RX-7 community than me!

Your car club sure seems to kick ***, I remember a thread you posted about people making fun of your "crappy club" ah I'll let everyone else see.
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=81180

The only V8 powered cars you beat are probably whipped Ford Grenadas or something of the like. Also you would never in hell beat me in the 1/4 mile, possibly the slalom, but there sure are alot of "twisties" around here. Ah .. this is getting old.
